  1. In will James in titles of Little Fontmell, Chide and Okeford. The Stepleton Estate had by then been disposed of. Information on James DACKOMBE states. Their son and heir, James, was assessed at Steepleton in the 1594 subsidy, though he may have disposed of the Rectory sooner, there is an action for recovery of the Rectory of Steepleton between Robert Freake and John Clotworthye, gent, in ...............     Middle Temple, London, (a) 29th April 1572 James DACKOMBE late of New Inn, gent, son and heir apparent of John DACKOMBE of Stypleton Dorset, gent, deceased, admitted. (b) 8th May 1572 James DACKOMBE admitted to a chamber of the farther side of the graveyard.

  3. No heirs can be found for this marriage; his father’s Will, 1628 make no reference to any children of grandchildren. It is probable therefore that William pre-deceased his father and left no heirs.
