    1911 83 Abbey Lane, Stratford, West Ham, Essex
    Visiting them was Jane WOODCOCK (29) single Chambermaid in Hotel
    born Peckham, London
    On the 1911 census Sarah is shown as having 12 children, 5 survive, 7 had died, we have now found 11 of the 12 children.
    Sarah Maria TUTT has 12 children; between 1876 and 1881 they were living in Ramsgate, 1887 in London, and 1894-1911 in West Ham.
    We have 8 children for her, so 4 missing (have found one, three now missing and another one with two Henry Johnson DANTON so now only two missing - I would think we are looking for two children born between 1887 and 1894 as that is where the gap is. From that there is a death of a Sarah TUTT DANTON as shown in the list before in this period who as the mother's maiden name was TUTT I think must also belong to this family, so we are down to just one child missing. I would think either born between 1887 and  1892 or born between late 1892 early 1893
    Her daughter-in-law, Louisa Mary HOLMES had 11 children, they married in West Ham in 1896, had children in Ramsgate 1899-1904 at least, but were in West Ham again by 1909. We have 6 children born before 1911, so 5 missing
    Which means we are looking for another 9 children?
    In West Ham there were the following children who all died young:
    Sarah Tutt DANTON born June quarter 1891 as Sarah DANTON , died September quarter 1896 age 4;
    Gilbert Edmund DANTON born June quarter 1897, died September quarter 1897 age 0;
    Victoria May DANTON born September quarter 1905, died September quarter 1905 age 0;
    Henry Johnson DANTON born September quarter 1906, died September quarter 1906 age 0;
    Albert Victor DANTON (son of Louisa Mary HOLMES) born June quarter 1899 in Ramsgate; died June quarter 1909; and
    Arthur Henry DANTON born June quarter 1908, died March quarter 1910 age 2.
    In Ramsgate from 1875 (when Sarah Maria TUTT married) - 1911 there were 19 deaths for children under 9 years of age.
    How can you decide which belongs to which family?
    Father - Edward TUTT (bc1830-) Sawyer
  3. 1881 Melrose House, Lorne Road, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. Family entered on CD-ROM with surname DUNTON
    1891 13 Ledbury Street, Camberwell, London
    1901 15 Hillbrow Road, St Lawrence, Kent. Gilbert, Louisa and son Gilbert were visiting Elizabeth WHITE, (63) widow born Walmer, Kent
    1911 89 Abbey Lane, Stratford, West Ham, Essex
  4. 1881 Melrose House, Lorne Road, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. Family entered on CD-ROM with surname DUNTON. Lodging with them was Stephen SETTERFIELD (25) Brickmaker born St Peters, Broadstairs, Kent
  5. 1881 Melrose House, Lorne Road, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. Family entered on CD-ROM with surname DUNTON. Lodging with them was Stephen SETTERFIELD (25) Brickmaker born St Peters, Broadstairs, Kent
    I believe this Henry Johnson DANTON died as shown. The Henry DANTON on the 1891 is show as being 8 years old and there is another birth of a Henry Johnson DANTON in March quarter 1883 in Thanet district, Kent which I believe to be this child
  6.
  7. 1891 13 Ledbury Street, Camberwell, London
    1901 Not found
  8. This is an additional child, baptism details tie up but is the only extra one I have found.
  9. 1891 13 Ledbury Street, Camberwell, London
    1901 94 Dames (?) Road, Forest Gate, West Ham, Essex

    Henry H (9) Robert L (7) and Percy C (3) all born West Ham, Essex
    1911 Not found
    There is a death of an Elizabeth Jane DANTON in June quarter 1902 in Romford district, Essex who was born about 1886 who could possibly be this child. Cannot find a marriage between 1901 and 1911 and she does not appear with family on 1911 Census.

  14. Additional note explaining how we have decided which children belong to this family.
    Sarah Maria TUTT had 12 children, between 1876 and 1881 they were living in Ramsgate, 1887 in London, and 1894-1911 in West Ham.
    We have 8 children for her, so 4 missing
    Louisa Mary HOLMES, Her daughter-in-law, had 11 children, they married in West Ham in 1896, had children in Ramstate 1899-1904 at least, but were in West Ham again by 1909. We have 6 children born before 1911, so 5 missing
    Which means we are looking for another 9 children.

    My brother, John TERRY, has worked on the question I asked below and has made some decisions, his comments are included below:
    He has found 3 more children for Sarah Maria TUTT
    He has found 4 more children for Louisa Mary HOLMES
    In West Ham there were the following children who all died young:
    Sarah Tutt DANTON born June quarter 1891 as Sarah DANTON , died September quarter 1896 age 4;  daughter of Sarah Maria TUTT
    Gilbert Edmund DANTON born June quarter 1897, died September quarter 1897 age 0;  I think this is the first child for this Louisa Mary HOLMES and her husband Gilbert DANTON. They married in West Ham and I think the name suggests that a Gilbert would have been their first child.
    Victoria May DANTON born September quarter 1905, died September quarter 1905 age 0; I think this child would fit into a gap Louisa Mary HOLMES's family
    Henry Johnson DANTON born September quarter 1906, died September quarter 1906 age 0;  There were already two children with this name in Sarah Maria TUTT's family so I should think this child belongs to Louisa Mary HOLMES. It would suggest the family moved to West Ham between 1904 and 1906
    Albert Victor DANTON (son of Louisa Mary HOLMES) born June quarter 1899 in Ramsgate; died June quarter 1909; So no problems with that one
    Arthur Henry DANTON born June quarter 1908, died March quarter 1910 age 2. Child of Louisa Mary HOLMES

    In Ramsgate from 1875 (when Sarah Maria TUTT married) - 1911 there were 19 deaths for children under 9 years of age. How can you decide which belongs to which family?

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
