1851 18 Castle Row, Parish of St Mildred, Canterbury, Kent
1861 18 Castle Row, Parish of St Mildred, Canterbury, Kent
1871 Census - St Thomas's Hill, St Dunstan, Kent
1881 12 Florence Cottages, Margate, Kent
1891 12 Florence Cottages, Margate, Kent
1901 2 Mill Lane, Margate, Kent. There was a Boarder a Caroline MANN, aged 28 a Cashier CC born Newbury Berks with the family.
  2. 1871 Census - St Thomas's Hill, St Dunstan, Kent
1881 12 Florence Cottages, Margate, Kent
1891 12 Florence Cottages, Margate, Kent
1901 2 Mill Lane, Margate, Kent. There was a Boarder a Caroline MANN, aged 28 a Cashier CC born Newbury Berks with the family.
  3. 1871 Census - St Thomas's Hill, St Dunstan, Kent - I think this is the family of Maria M FEDARB, as it is such an unusual name and she is down as Maria M and is the right age, I cannot think that there would be another Maria M FEDARB. Thomas FEDARB abt 1840 Canterbury, Kent, Head occupation Whitesmith, born St Dunstan Kent, Elizabeth FEDARB abt 1838 Canterbury, Kent, Wife St Dunstan Kent, Maria M FEDARB abt 1862 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent, Emily FEDARB abt 1866 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent James J FEDARB abt 1869 Faversham, Kent, Son St Dunstan Kent, Elizabeth FEDARB abt 1871 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent.
1881 Census - No 1 Belmont Terrace, St Peters, Kent - Servant
  4. BMD and IGI information, I believe Alice was a member of this family.
  5. 1871 53 Black Griffin Lane, Canterbury St Peter, Kent
1881 26 Church Street, Margate, Kent
1891 22 Church Street, Margate, Kent
1901 Census - 7 Victoria Cottages, Margate, Kent.  It interesting to note that he married a Emily Annie FEDARB (I think it is FEDARB as BMD gives both spellings above, but Edwards uncle on ADAMS Chart 0500  married a Mara Mary FEDARB in 1886, unfortunately she died in 1890, which was the year that Edward married Emily. I would think there is some relationship between the two. I have looked on the various Censuses and found both Emily and Maria, but they do not come from the same direct family, I still think they are the same family but possibly the connection is in the previous generation. Emily definitely came from Canterbury, where the most occurrences of the name are, Maria was a Servant on the 1881 Census and puts her birth place down as Canterbury, but on the 1871 Census she can be found as daughter, but is down as being born in Faversham, Kent.
    IGI baptism
  6. 1871 Census - St Thomas's Hill, St Dunstan, Kent - I think this is the family of Maria M FEDARB, as it is such an unusual name and she is down as Maria M and is the right age, I cannot think that there would be another Maria M FEDARB. Thomas FEDARB abt 1840 Canterbury, Kent, Head occupation Whitesmith, born St Dunstan Kent, Elizabeth FEDARB abt 1838 Canterbury, Kent, Wife St Dunstan Kent, Maria M FEDARB abt 1862 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent, Emily FEDARB abt 1866 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent James J FEDARB abt 1869 Faversham, Kent, Son St Dunstan Kent, Elizabeth FEDARB abt 1871 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent.
1881 12 Florence Cottages, Margate, Kent
1891 11 Florence Row, Margate, Kent. James is a Boarder but living next door to his parents and family. He was with a Elizabeth KNAPMAN a widow, a Laundress, aged 49 born Kingsdown, Kent, her daughter, niece and grandson. ( I did not enter full details of this family as James was only boarding with them, but on the BMD is appears that he possibly married a Henrietta KNAPMAN, I thought she might have been one of the people on this Census but she is not. The full list is Caroline KNAPMAN, aged 11, daughter, Ida PETERS, niece and James KNAPMAN, grandson.
1901 11 Florence Cottages, Margate, Kent. It appears that James has taken over this property from his parents. Eliza is his wife so it confirms the marriage I have found. Chart to be added as there are seven children on this Census, one of them Henry is 12 and therefore was born before they married and as he does not appear with James on the 1891 Census I would think that he was not the father of this child. Perhaps Eliza had been married before, but I would not think so as her name on the BMD was KNAPMAN and James was living with a family of KNAPMAN's on the 1891 Census. Will look further into this when I put a Chart on for the family.
  7. 1871 Census - St Thomas's Hill, St Dunstan, Kent - I think this is the family of Maria M FEDARB, as it is such an unusual name and she is down as Maria M and is the right age, I cannot think that there would be another Maria M FEDARB. Thomas FEDARB abt 1840 Canterbury, Kent, Head occupation Whitesmith, born St Dunstan Kent, Elizabeth FEDARB abt 1838 Canterbury, Kent, Wife St Dunstan Kent, Maria M FEDARB abt 1862 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent, Emily FEDARB abt 1866 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent James J FEDARB abt 1869 Faversham, Kent, Son St Dunstan Kent, Elizabeth FEDARB abt 1871 Faversham, Kent, Daughter St Dunstan Kent.

    Baptisms IGI
  10. 1881 12 Florence Cottages, Margate, Kent
1891 12 Florence Cottages, Margate, Kent

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SPELLING OF FEDARB VARIES ON THE BMD AND ON THE CENSUS RETURNS, ON ANCESTRY.COM IT IS BEST TO SEARCH WITH FED* BUT EVEN THEN THIS DOES NOT COVER ALL THE VARIATIONS. NORMALLY THIS IS ANCESTRY.COM's INTERPRETATION OF THE NAME, BUT IN MANY CASES EVEN LOOKING AT THE CENSUS IT DOES NOT APPEAR AS FEDARB. I THINK THE ENUMERATORS HAD A JOB DECIDING HOW TO SPELL IT.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
