The death of Eliza had changed and he gave me the following information. St. Mary's Convent and Nursing Home, (Formerly known as St. Mary's Convent and St. Joseph's Hospital) Convent Diary 1912 "August 25- Mrs Forester's daughter and husband came from Hammersmith." "September 25- Mrs Forester's daughter came to see her." "September 26- Mrs Forester has moved out of the ward and had her blessing in the afternoon, given by Father Denison." "September 30- Mrs Forester died at 8.20pm. Her daughter and Mrs. Day were with her." "Oct 1- The undertaker came to make arrangements for Mrs. Forester's funeral." "Oct 4- Mrs Forester's funeral at 2.30pm" Dear Mr Forrester, Eliza Jane Forrester aged 54 years is buried in the cemetery in Corney Road Chiswick (Chiswick (old) Cemetery), the interment took place on 4th October 1912 from St Josephs Home Burlington Lane Chiswick (next to the cemetery) In the burial register she was noted as "widow of Arthur James Forrester" -there is no entry for him. The only other piece of information is that the grave is in 'consecrated ground'. As the burial is in a 'Public' grave there is most probably no memorial/vase although i do know there are a number of small vases scattered along the cemetery wall. The grave is numbered 153 Block H, attached is a map showing block H and a detailed plan indicating the position of grave 153. Although the following may not bear any connection but there was on the 21 June 1895 the burial of one Robert Scott Forrester aged 35 years from Strand on the Green again in a Public grave 383 Block A Alan Rice Cemeteries Officer 1881 38 Faraday Street, Newington, Soutwark, London. There was a boarder a William MURPHY aged 30 a Hawker and General Dealer born Camberwell, London 1904 - 14 Sutherland Place, Walworth, Newington, London (at marriage of Samuel to Nellie) Nellie's father Arthur down as a Commercial Traveller 1905 - 14 Sutherland Place, Walworth, Newington, London (at baptism of Sarah) I found this family on the 1901 Census and found to my surprise that Samuel had married again to a Nellie who was only 21 years ago, so assume that Florence died between 1891 and 1901. As Samuel is shown as only four months on the Census I have put him as the son of Samuel and Nellie. This could be wrong. The Census actually says second wife which is most unusual. They were living at 14 Sutherland Road, Walworth, Newington, London 1911 - 5 Anne's Row, Walworth London (address at marriage) 1911 Census - 21 Toulon St Camberwell S E 1881 38 Faraday Street, Newington, Soutwark, London.
