  4. I no longer think that this Elizabeth was a child of this family. I think she was the sister of John EDNEY who married MaryAnn GERMAIN, on the 1861 Census she is down as Elizabeth LOFTS but is a widow and is living with her mother Jane EDNEY. The two children who I have on the 1871 are with her and are down as Grandchildren, so I am fairly certain that I have now sorted out where she fits in. Elizabeth married a Thomas LOFTS on the 15th June 1851 at St Mary, Newington, Surrey. Witnesses were  Edward Baker EDNEY and Mary Ann ATTWELL. The father of Elizabeth was a James EDNEY deceased, so confirming my thoughts that she was not a GERMAIN.
1871 Census 24 Phelp Street, Newington, Lambeth, Surrey. With Elizabeth was her sister Mary Ann EDNEY. Elizabeth is down as a widow. Two children with her Thomas J LOTTS aged 18 unmarried a Painter born Newington, Surrey and Elizabeth J LOTTS aged 17 a Laundress born Newington, Surrey.
  5. 1861 15 Refferdam? Street, Bermondsey, London
1871 Census 37 Arnott Street, Newington, Lambeth, Surrey. Prudence GERMAIN the mother of Mary is with the family. Thomas and Mary are down as husand and wife but they did not marry until July 1881
1881 12 Paragon Building, Rodney Road, Newington, Southwark, London. Thomas and Mary are down as husand and wife but they did not marry until July 1881

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
