  2. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1851 Census - High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. Ann had married again by this census so I would assume that Edward had died. Middleton CLACK also appears to have been married before as they have a son called Ruben CLACK aged 16 born Warboys, Huntingdonshire. All the GRANGE children on this Census are shown as son-in-laws and daughter-in-laws which they were not, they were step sons and daughters.
1861 Census - Mill End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. There was a Elizabeth ALEXANDER, granddaughter aged 9 down as a Brickmakers daughter born Over, Cambridgeshire with the family. (Have found a marriage on BMD of a Martha GRANGE to a John ALEXANDER in St Ives district.
IGI (Submitted by a member of the LDS Church). Marriage date for Middleton and Ann, but also recorded on BMD as December quarter 1847 St Ives district, Huntingdonshire, which ties up with this information.

  5. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
There is a John GRANGE born in Warboys who married a Mary but the birth age varies between 1828 and 1830 and I have John on the 1851 Census before he married as being born in 1827. There is another John down as being born around 1831 so I am not certain
  6. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
  7. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1852 Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1861 Census - Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1871 Horsegate Lane, Whittlesey Cambridgeshire - Edward was not at home in this census
1881 Census - Paddock Road, Bushey, Hertfordshire. I believe the Robert on this Census is the same child as Walter Robert and I have now amended this Chart accordingly.
1891 Census - Vicarage Road, Watford, Hertfordshire
1901 Census - 9 Oxley Street, Watford, Hertfordshire
Father - William GRANGE born about 1808 Occupations: 1852 Labourer
  8. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1861 Census - Oxhey Lane Cottage, Watford, Hertfordshire. His occupation ties up with Note 16 and the occupation of Elizabeth ALEXANDER. Three other children on this Census other than Elizabeth who we know about already. Martha Ann aged 7 a Scholar, born Warboys, Huntingdonshire, John Robert aged 3 Scholar born Watford, Hertfordshire and Charles John aged 1 born Watford, Hertfordshire.
1871 Census - Paddock Road, Bushey, Hertfordshire. John is down as being born in Great Yarmouth on this Census. Lots of children on this Census all down as being born in Watford, Hertfordshire except the last child who is down as being born in Bushey, Hertfordshire - J Robert aged 13 Labourer at silk mill, C John aged 11 Labourer at silk mill, G William, aged 9 Scholar, Joseph, 7 Scholar, Druscilla, 5 Scholar, and Beatrice 2.
1871 Census - 203 High Street, Watford, Huntingdonshire. There were two children, Eliza Ann aged 3 born Whittlesea and Harriet 11 months born Bushey, Hertfordshire. I have looked on the BMD and it shows as above but there are two men and one female who is a Martha not a Mary so do not know the maiden name of Mary. Bringing up the whole list for that quarter for Whittlesea it shows eight Mary's so still cannot decide which is the correct one. Alfred's age is not correct, down as being born in 1842 but I am sure this is the correct Alfred. The GRANGE family as whole seems to have moved to the Watford area.
1881 Census - Paddock Road, Bushey, Hertfordshire.
1901 Census - 47 Lower Paddock Road, Bushey, Hertfordshire.
  9. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1851 Census - High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1861 Census - Trevingay, Redruth, Cornwall. Two children Elizabeth Ann GRANGE aged 3 born Warboys, Huntingdonshire and Sarah Rebecca GRANGE aged 6 months born Fen Drayton, Huntingdonshire. (so why were they in Cornwall)
1871 Census - Mill End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1881 Census - 100 Cobden Street, Peterborough, Northamptonshire
1891 Census - 8 Cobden Street, Peterborough, Northamptonshire
  10. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1851 Census - High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1861 Census - Mill End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1871 Census - Eastry Road, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire
1881 Census - Queen Street, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire
1891 Census - Whitmore Street, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire
1901 Census - 1 Tower Street, Fletton, Northamptonshire. Frederick and Harriet had visitors on this Census but I believe it was their daughter Mary Ann and her husband James PLUMB, they had a son a Reginald Grange PLUMB, aged 1 born St Pancras, London. The details for Mary Ann matching those of Mary Ann GRANGE above and the fact that the son has Grange as his second name I think confirms that it was his daughter and husband.
  11. 1841 Census - Prep Yard, High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1851 Census - High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1861 Census - Mill End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. .
1871 Census - 203 High Street, Watford, Huntingdonshire.
1881 Census - 4 Alma Place, Peterborough, Northamptonshire. Again Alfred's age has changed but definitely the same family as on the 1871 Census, this time he is down as being 43 so born in 1838. They have moved to Peterborough. Two children on 1871 Census with them Eliza Ann is a Domestic Servant, Harriet a Scholar, then there is Charles J, aged 9 Scholar, born Bushey, Hertfordshire, Mary E, 6 born Lynn, Norfolk and Frederick C aged 6 months born Holbeach, Lincolnshire.
1891 Census - 2 Wrights Yard, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Mary is Head of Household, but is down as married and not a widow. Children Eliza and Harriet's occupations are down as Lace (Frilling), Mary E's is Cotton clearer, Charles Frederick (Frederick C on the 1881 Census) has no occupation and then there is a Florence, Granddaughter, aged 11 months and born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire with the family.
1901 Census - 20 Sims Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Mary again is Head of Household, down as married, not a widow. With her is her son Frederick, aged 20 a Boot and Shoe Salesman. Then there is William WALLIS, son-in-law aged 26, Barman, Beerhouse, born Beeston, Nottinghamshire, Elizabeth WALLIS, daughter, aged 26 Lacemaker, born Lynn, Norfolk, Samuel WALLIS, aged 3 born Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Annie WALLIS, aged 2 born Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, then there is a Florrie ELLIOTT aged 10 Granddaughter born Nottingham Nottinghamshire.
  12. 1841 Census - High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1861 Mile End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire a lodger with a John HORDEN

  15. 1841 Census - High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
