    ROSS, Edna May (nee Hawke) - Retired employee of T. Eaton Company, Toronto Passed away peacefully at Spencer House - Leisureworld on Saturday, August 17, 2013 in her 96th year. Edna Ross, of Orillia, formerly of Etobicoke, wife of John H. Ross and T. Allen Sage, both predeceased. Edna was the last and eldest daughter of the late Henry and Laura Hawke (nee Danton). Sister of the late Howard, Bruce, Reta Newport, Lloyd, Margaret Duncan, Mervyn and Ted. Following cremation, a Service of Remembrance will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, on Monday morning, August 26th at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at St. Andrew's-St. James' Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Parkinson Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated
    As can be seen from Obituary Edna was the last of the children to die although she was the eldest.

  5. HAWKE – Bruce Raymond: Passed away in his 91st. year on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Norfolk General Hospital after a determined battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Peggy (nee Bonthron, deceased). Devoted father of Pat Finney (George) and loving grandfather to Jeremy Finney of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Christie Finney of Grenada, West Indies and Liam Finney of Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. Bruce was one of 8 children born to Henry and Laura (Danton) Hawke in Orillia: Edna Ross still living in Orillia, Margaret Duncan (Bob) of Gravenhurst, Rita Newport (Wilf) of Barrie, Howard Hawke (Fran), Ted Hawke (Dianne), Mervin Hawke and Lloyd Hawke (Lois). He was cousin, uncle and great-uncle to many more family members. Bruce founded and operated “Hamilton Acoustics” for his living and throughout his life, enjoyed fishing, canoeing, long walks and the out-of-doors. Bruce served in World War II in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an aircraft engine mechanic across Canada. He was a member of the Simcoe Senior’s Centre, the Tillsonburg Duplicate Bridge Club, Simcoe Duplicate Bridge Club and a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Simcoe. He will be missed by his friends at Mill Pond Court, Cedarwood Gardens and the Senior’s Centre in Simcoe. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH, 80 Colborne St. S., Simcoe. The Reverend Dr. Timothy Dobbin officiating. THE BALDOCK FUNERAL HOME, 96 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe in care of arrangements.

Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Lewis Duncan. Dear sister of Edna and Bruce. Margaret is predeceased by her siblings Howard, Rita, Lloyd, Mervin and Ted. Also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Ted (Marion) Boyd and family of Garson, ON. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the W. J.     HAWKE, Frederick Ross (Ted) - Suddenly at home on Saturday, June 7th, 2008. Retired Manager of the Business Office of the Huronia Regional Centre. Beloved husband and best friend of Dianne Hawke (nee: Dougall). Loving son of the late Henry & Laura (nee: Danton) Hawke. Much loved father of Suzanne Hawke of Toronto and Robert (Theresa) Hawke of Orillia. Also much loved and respected step-father of Kevin (Marilyn) Thorpe of Maple Ridge, B.C., Kerrie (Jim) Cook of Orillia and Kristi (Ralph) Opdenkelder of Udney. Kind and loving grandpa of Jessica and Ashley Hawke, Jackson, Samantha and Jeffery Cook all of Orillia and Riley Thorpe of Maple Ridge, B.C. Survived by siblings Edna (John predeceased) Ross of Orillia, Margaret (Robert predeceased) Duncan of Gravenhurst and Bruce (Peggy predeceased) Hawke of Simcoe and sister- in-law Lois Hawke. Predeceased by his sister Reta (Wilford) Newport and brothers Howard (Fran), Lloyd and Mervin. Also remembered by Vivian Hawke. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Ted was a well known sportsman in his youth, playing hockey, lacrosse and fastball for many Orillia teams for many years. He was a gentle, kind and generous man who never hesitated to help a friend in his own quiet way. He will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him. The late Mr. Frederick (Ted) Hawke will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Then from 12 Noon until time of funeral service in the chapel on Thursday afternoon, June 12th at 1 p.m. Interment: St. Andrew's - St. James' Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Charity of Ones Choice would be appreciated.
