  1. 1841 Greenhithe, Kent. There is a John JENKINS in Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent. He appears to be with his mother Mary aged 63 born in Kent. Above them is a William JENKINS, aged 25 a Waterman born Kent and Harriet aged 22 born Kent. I think that William was the head of household and had married Harriet and that his mother Mary and his brother John were living with them. I will put a chart on to show the details to date. Unfortunately at the present time I cannot get any further with this as there are no details of this family on the IGI to give me a clue.
    1851  Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1861 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1871 High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1881 High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent. Down as lodgers were Frederick C MOON, aged 31 an Engine Driver, born Bath, Somerset and his wife Mary Ann, aged 31 born Greenhithe, Kent and their children, George F aged 3 born Thurrock, Essex, John E aged 2 born Greenhithe, Kent and Eliza C aged 1 born Greenhithe, Kent (I think Mary Ann MOON (the BMD has this as MOOR, and confirms that this is correct)  is the daughter of John and Mary Ann above) with the family is a William LONG aged 30 (could be 20) a Newpher a Gardener born New Bumpton?, Kent
1891 Alm Houses, High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
  2. 1851  Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1861 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1871 High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1881 High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1891 Alm Houses, High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
  3. 1851  Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1861 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
  4. 1851  Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1861 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1871 High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1881 2 Lamb Cliff, Stone in Dartford, Kent.
1891 23 Charles Street, Stone, Kent.  There was a boarder, a John W TAYLOR aged 20 a Crane Driver born Dartford, Kent.
1901 11 Provident Street, Stone, Kent.  There was a William KING, Grandson, aged 1 born Greenhithe, Kent
  5. 1851  Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1861 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent.
    1871 High Street, Greenhithe, Kent.
1881 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent.

  8. 1861 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1871 High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1891 2 Overy Street, Dartford, Kent. No children of their own, but their was a Charlotte JENKINS, niece, aged 20 and an Eliza JENKINS, niece, aged 18 both MIll Hands (Factory) and both born Greenhithe, Kent. They were the children of John and Alice who at present I cannot find on this 1891  Census.
1901 2 Overy Street, Dartford, Kent
  9. 1861 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1871 High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1881 Census - Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent. James, Charlotte and Elizabeth were lodging with a Mary A NETTLINGHAM who was a widow aged 56 a Charwoman born Stone, Kent and her children. The name NETTLINGHAM is interesting as this is another line that I am researching in this area and it is an uncommon name.
1891 Census - 5 Forrest Row, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1901 Census - 6 Workhouse Cottages, Greenhithe,  Swanscombe, Kent. I am told by Margaret JORDAN that James and his second wife had "several" children, as I can only go as far as the 1901 Census, I have only found one at the present time.
  10. 1861 Pump Alley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent

1901 Vicarage Cottage, Trafalgar Street, Gillingham, Kent.
  11. 1871 High Street, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Kent
1881 6 Cobham Terrace, Swanscombe, Kent. Caroline is down as a Servant, but she is living with her Aunt, a Grace CHAPMAN, aged 76 an Annuitant, born Greenhithe, Kent. There are no other occupants of the premises
1891 Gale Cottage, Wivenhoe, Essex. Children - James 7 born Greenhithe, Kent, Caroline 5 born Wivenhoe, Essex, William 2 born Wivenhoe, Essex and Annie 2 months born Wivenhoe, Essex (this again is an interesting find as I live extremely close to Wivenhoe, Essex and did not expect to find the family in this area). There are several other OAKLEY families on the same page of the Census.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
