  1. 1861 West End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1871 Warboys Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshir
    1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire
1891 Wheatsheaf Inn, Somersham, Huntingdonshire. We had these details, which are fine, and there is a John as Head, Rebecca as wife, then a Susannah, which ties up a Sarah that ties up, but then there is a John aged 18 that makes no sense at all. The John (which is our main concern was married by then. We feel they meant Tom the youngest son who did not marry until after 1891, I make him around 20 for the 1891 Census, but I think this is more likely than there being another John born after Tom as it would mean there were two John's in the family.
    1901 Wheatsheaf Inn, Somersham, Huntingdonshire
Information from Celia, daughter of Thomas Roland LAWRENCE given to Julia CAMPBELL
"Celia said her father Tom had said his father John went to Canada every now and again to get extra money and when he came home another child was born so that is why there were gaps in the births. Celia also said Olive has some furniture made of Canadian Red Wood. Now John's brother George's son Wilfred was a Cabinet Maker who emigrated to Canada in we think 1912 so I am wondering whether this furniture was made by Wilfred and then shipped back to England. My Canadian contact Jim LAWRENCE and I have been puzzling recently why John's brother George was in Canada when he died. Jim knew nothing about George being in Canada let alone dying there until I found the grave in Pidley (Pidley cum Fenton or sometimes just Pidley and sometimes just Fenton) of George's wife Martha which said George had died in Sudbury, Canada. This new information might explain why George was in Canada. Perhaps George and John went together or perhaps all the LAWRENCE boys used to go together to Canada to earn extra money. I wonder what they did to earn this extra money?"
  2. 1841 Census - 100 foot bank, Welney, Downham, Upwell, Cambridgeshire.
1851 Census - 100 feet bank, Welney Cambridgeshire
  3. 1851 Census - High Street, Benwick, Cambridgeshire
    1861 West End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1871 Warboys Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire
    1891 Wheatsheaf Inn, Somersham, Huntingdonshire.
    1901 Wheatsheaf Inn, Somersham, Huntingdonshire
  4. 1861 West End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1871 Broad Pieces(?), Ely, Cambridgeshire
Visiting John MUNNS, his wife Rebecca and their 10 months old son.
1881 Census - 23 Alexander Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire.
1891 Census - 153 King Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire. They have an adopted child, an Emma DENTON age 8 a Scholar, born Berwick, Cambridgeshire. As this child is not born in Kettering, but in Berwick which is where Hannah, James's wife was born I wonder if Emma is a relation of Hannah's, niece, etc. There was also a lodger in the household.
1901 Census - 153 King Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire. Emma DENTON (see Note 12) is now 18 and is down as a Boarder, on the 1891 Census she is down as adopted. She is a Pupil Teacher. I have found George Lawrence, living next door in Kettering, so I am certain it is a brother, the third child on the Chart above.
  5. 1871 Warboys Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1881 Census - 23 Alexander Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire.
    1891 Wheatsheaf Inn, Somersham, Huntingdonshire.
    1901 Wheatsheaf Inn, Somersham, Huntingdonshire
  6. 1861 West End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1871 Warboys Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire
1891 51 Havelock Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire
1901 151 King Street, Kettering, Huntingdonshire. George and family, ie George, Martha and Charles were lodging at this address. With this family on the 1901 was Sarah LAWRENCE, down as Visitor but a sister of George, who was 39 and born in Warboys, Huntingdonshire,
1911 151 King Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire. I do not quite understand this Census but I am sure it is the right family, George is down as George Arthur born 1859 in Norfolk, possible as he had given Norfolk as birth place before and he has changed his occupation. Martha is down as being born 1858 in Pidley, Huntingdonshire which is exactly right. Then the real problem, Annie Elizabeth LAWRENCE is down as having been married six years and is down as daughter a Boot machinist born Kettering Northamptonshire. I think she is really daughter in law as we have no Annie as daughter born in 1882 the date she give for her birth, then there is a Gladys Maud LAWRENCE down as daughter aged 3 born Kettering, Northamptonshire, but I think this is a daughter of Annie Elizabeth, not of George and Martha. Living with the family was a Percival George FREEMAN a Boarder aged 27 a Tailors Presser born Caldecott, Rutland and I assume his wife Clara FREEMAN aged 23 (1888) born Pidley, Huntingdonshire. She is also down as a Boarder and married.
  7. 1871 Warboys Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire
    1891 Wheatsheaf Inn, Somersham, Huntingdonshire.
1901 151 King Street, Kettering, Huntingdonshire. Sarah was with her brother George and family on this Census.
  8. 1871 Warboys, Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
    1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire
    1884 Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1891 38 Burrard Road, Hampstead, Middlesex. Living in the same property as Philip WHEATON and his wife Emma, sister of Annie LAWRENCE née HYDE, Robert UTTERIDGE, his Eliza née HYDE (both from Warboys) and their son Thomas WHEATON, brother of Philip, with his wife and 4 children
1901 Census - 20 Charles Street, Kettering Northamptonshire. There was also a visitor a Sarah A MATHER age 42 born Iroway? Derbyshire and I assume her son, William C MATHER aged 14 days, born Kettering, Northamptonshire.
1911 20 Charles Street Kettering Northamptonshire.
Information from Celia, daughter of Thomas Roland LAWRENCE given to Julia CAMPBELL
"Celia said her father Tom had said his father John went to Canada every now and again to get extra money and when he came home another child was born so that is why there were gaps in the births. 9. 1871 Warboys Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire
    1891 Nether Heyford, Northamptonshire
1901 16 Elnion Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire
1911 27 Eden Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire
  10. 1871 Warboys Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire
1891 St Ives Road, Bluntisham, Huntingdonshire. With John and Althea were the following members of John VILES family, Susan VILES, mother, aged 63 born Woodhurst, Huntingdonshire, George F W VILES, brother, aged 17, Agricultural Labourer, born Somersham, Huntingdonshire, Florence N VILES, sister, aged 12, Scholar, born Somersham, Huntingdonshire. There was also a Visitor, an Alice Wenden, aged 22, an Assistant School Teacher born Goldhanger, Essex.
1901 Darwoods Place, St Ives, Huntingdonshire
1911 The Wilderness, St Ives, Huntingdonshire.
  11. 1871 Warboys Road, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
    1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire
    1891 Old Fen, Ramsey, Huntingdonshire
1901 Grange Farm, Abbotts Ripton, Huntingdonshire
    1911 South Street, Woodhurst, Huntingdonshire.
  12. 1881 Pidley Cum Fenton, Huntingdonshire

    1901 Church Street, Woodhurst, Huntingdonshire
1911 57 Pollard Street Kettering Northamptonshire (no issue, his wife is down as having no children)

This Chart has just continued to grow in size, I have covered all members of the family until 1901, only Susannah and Sarah are still unmarried, also most of the family moved to Kettering, Northamptonshire. The only thing I cannot find is anything definite on John LAWRENCE, the Head of Household on the 1851 Census for his family.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
