    1911 161 Preston Drove, Preston, Brighton, Sussex. Mary is down as having been married 41 years and having had 6 children all of whom survive at the date of this census. 
  7. 1861 Census - Smitherhill, Shipley, Sussex. Sarah and Fanny are down as visitors at this address. The Head is a Thomas MERRITT aged 54 an Ag Lab born Billingshurst, Sussex, his wife is Mary MERRITT aged 54 born Shipley, Sussex. The children are Thomas, William and John all Ag Labs and all born in Shipley, Sussex but the ages are difficult to read as they all have lines through them, but possibly 27 or 17, for Thomas, 15 for William and 18 for John, but that is the order they are in so William at 15 is before John who looks as though he is 18 and if Thomas is 17, John should have been before him as well. (The name MERRITT crops us with the family elsewhere with Billingshurst births, but cannot find a connection between the two families at present.

    1881 Census - Cottage near? Armington House, Botolphs, Sussex. Mary, Sarah's mother was living with her daughter  and her husband on this Census.
    1891 Census - Old Farm House, Botolphs, Sussex. This is the next property to Old Farm House, but no dittos or anything, so they might be in the same property. the next one after them is Armington House. See 1881 Census.
    1901 Census - Charlton Court Cottages, Steyning, Sussex
    1911 31 Charlton St Steyning, Sussex. On the 1911 census Sarah is shown as having been married 30 years and having had 7 children, 5 were still living and 2 had died

    1881 13 Regency Square, The Palace, Brighton, Sussex There is no head of house. Fanny was living with Mary A JUFFREY(?) (50) widow Housemaid born Southrepps, Norfolk.

    1901 Census - 106 Cherry Orchard Road, Croydon, Surrey (down as PASSONS on the Ancestry.com, index, found by searching for Fanny born Shipley, Sussex). There was a Frederick PARSONS, aged 16 a nephew a Gasfitters Mate, (Railways) born Shakeham, Sussex with the family.
    1911 14 Rymer Road Croydon Surrey, There was a Visitor an Eliza TREE aged 30 a Domestic Servant born Horsham, Sussex. On the 1911 census Fanny is shown as having been married 23 years and having had 3 children all still living
