  1. 1841 Census - 21 Waterside, Dartford, Kent. (no occupation given for John).
  2. 1851 Census - Waterside, 19 Hall Place, Dartford, Kent.
  3. 1861 Census - No 19  Hall Place, Waterside, Dartford, Kent. There were visitors, a George ODELL aged 26 no profession born Nova Scotia, Canada, his wife Sarah A ODELL, aged 29 born Dartford, Kent. (is this the eldest daughter on the Chart above) and their daughter Emma aged 2 born London. (Have now found a marriage so I am certain this is the correct for George and Sarah)
  4. 1871 Census - No 62 Great Queens Street, Dartford, Kent. John and Sophia had four children, Emily 7 a Scholar, Elizabeth 5 a Scholar, Alfred 3 a Scholar and Henry 1, all of them born 1 Dartford, Kent.
  5. 1871 Census - No 29 St Albans Road, Dartford, Kent. Charles and Ellen had a daughter Louisa, 1 born Dartford, Kent
  6. 1871 Census - Sherriff Hutton, Yorkshire, Henry was a Lodger with a Sarah REED.
  7. 1871 Census - Allen? Cottages, Ermington, Devon. As this marriage was to a SMITH I did not think there was much hope of proving it was correct. However Louisa and Samuel appeared to have moved to Devon and Louisa's father John MACKNEY was living with them. Cannot read birth place of Samuel, but Ancestry.com has deciphered it as Wrexham, Derbyshire, I think the Derbyshire is incorrect and should be Wales.
  8. 1871 Census - No 35 St Albans Road, Dartford, Kent. Another lucky find, I found a marriage of Eliza as shown, but of course their were two males to choose from. I could not find on the 1871 but was searching for Sarah ODELL, Eliza's sister and found that an Eliza LOWNDS was lodging with her with two children, Ann age 5 born Holloway, London, a Scholar and Thirza 3 months born Peckham, London. William was not with the family. Eliza has an occupation down as Paper (and then is looks like Miles, I can only think of Maker to fit) Note they were living very near to Charles on this Census.
  9. 1871 Census - No 35 St Albans Road, Dartford, Kent. As already explained Eliza's sister was living with this family on this Census which was also very near to Charles. George now has an occupation of Gas Engineer and is down as being born in Lambeth whereas on the 1861 he is down as being born in Nova Scotia, Canada. Their daughter Emma now 12 is down as being born in Pimlico. No further children.
  10. 1881 Census - 30 St Albans Road, Dartford, Kent. Louisa now 11, a Scholar, and then the following additional children, Henry C 9 Frederick J 6 and Charles 3 all Scholars and Ellen 1 all of them born in Dartford, Kent
  11. 1881 Census - 80 East Hill, Dartford, Kent. Emma, their daughter, now aged 22 was still with them on this Census.
  12. 1881 Census - Oil Shop, 1 Dundee Place, Carmichael Road, Croydon, Surrey. Children on this Census - Ann aged 14, Milliner born Holloway, London and Henry aged 13 Scholar, born Peckham, Surrey
  13. 1881 Census - 53 Kingsley Road, Maidstone, Kent
  14. 1881 Census - 59 Great Queen Street, Dartford, Kent. Children on this Census - All born Dartford, Emily 17 Dressmaker, Elizabeth 15, Alfred 13 Scholar, Henry 11 Scholar, Annie 8, Scholar. There was also a Janet WOOLLEY, niece aged 6 a Scholar, born Dartford, Kent with the family.
  15. 1891 Census - Ashprington, Devon. Samuel and Louisa appear back in Devon having been in Maidstone on the 1881 Census.
  16. 1891 Census - Beer House, Wilmington, Kent. Children with them Alfred 23 an Engineer and Pattern Maker and Annie 18 both born Dartford, Kent there was also a Harriet EDWARDS, a sister in - law a visitor, aged 46 born Dartford, Kent and a servant a Kate CHERRY aged 17 born Stone, Kent
  17. 1891 Census - 40 St Albans Road, Dartford, Kent. Children, all born Dartford on this Census were Louisa, aged 17 a Dressmaker,  Henry C, aged 19 General Work, Frederick J, aged 16, General Work, (the next four children were all Scholars) Charles, 13, Ellen, 11, Lydia E, 8 and William R 5.
  18. 1891 Census - 9 Albert Road, Croydon, Surrey. George is down again as having been born in Lambeth. Emma no longer with them. They had a lodger a William SKELTON, a Greengrocers Assistant, aged 21 born Croydon, Surrey.
  19. 1901 Census - 9 Summerland Terrace, Barnstaple, Devon
  20. 1881 Census - 33 Hill Street, Llangeinor, Glamorgan, Wales. I feel this is the correct Henry, his occupation is correct, he was born in Kent and his sister had married in Wales. His age however is not quite correct, but this might have been because his wife was a lot older than him.
  21. 1891 Census - 25 Llewelyn Street, Llangenor, Glamorgan, Wales. More certain that this is the correct family as Henry on this Census is down as being born in Dartford, Kent.
  22. 1901 Census - 7 Prospect Place, Llangenor, Glamorgan, Wales.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
