1906 A Mr Samuel E MALTBY arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 27th November 1906 from Liverpool, England on the ship "Noordland". He is down as being 25 years and 5 months and being born in 1881 with a last residence of Wigton Cumberland and a birthplace of Derbyshire and being a Teacher, so I am certain correct person. A friends name is given as J. H. Shahby.

1918 Samuel Edwin Maltby was the author of a book published by University Press in 1918 entitled Manchester and the movement for national elementary.

  5. 1911 Sidcot, Winscombe, Somerset.  They had a Servant an Elizabeth Mary GRIFFITHS aged 17 a General Servant Domestic born Treburgh, Somerset
  6. There was a Catherine MALTBY born September quarter 1913 in Axbridge district, Somerset with COOPER as the mother's maiden name whom I believe to be a child of this couple.
  7. Because of Samuel Edwin being a Head Teacher I have found references to him on Google, through this I found this additional child, Mary and Anthony apparently had three children, Anna Marjorie, Charles Thomas, and Jan. Mary Diana must have died or divorced as Anthony married again a Jean Margaret TURNER and by this wife he had two more children Timothy Laurence and Harriett Jane.
Charles Thomas Gillette was a Disc Jockey who managed Ian Drury and discovered Dire Straits and Elvis Costello.
Educated at Cambridge with an Economics Degree wrote a thesis in USA on Rock and Roll which he turned into a book.
Loads of OBITS for him. Born in Morcambe 20 Feb 1942 died in 2010 of a heart attack.
Married Buffy Chessum in 1964 had daughters Suzy and Jody and son Ivan.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
