1883 Westcott, Dorking, Surrey (baptisms of Alice Mary Ann, Albert Obed, William George, Tubal Cane and Susan Jane)
Cannot find the family after the 1881 census but there is an Obed OVERINGTON, aged 40, in the District Brookwood, Asylum down as a Lunatic. I have found Daniel and Albert as Boarders, etc.
  2. 1870 24 Great Maze Court, Southwark, Surrey (at marriage) Father Edward WHIFFIN, Baker

Elizabeth OVERINGTON is Head, she is down as a Widow and although crossed through she is shown as having been married 40 years and having had eight children six of whom survive and two of whom had died by the date of this Census. With her is her daughter Susan Jane HARRIS née OVERINGTON aged 28, she is down as having had two children both of whom survive at the date of this census. Her husband Exion is not with her and I cannot find him on this Census. As can be seen she was in India and she had a son a Reginald ALTON aged 4 born Cairo, Alexandria (see 1918 entry following to see which I believe I have the correct Alice on this Census)

1891 Census - Wotton House, Wotton, Dorking Surrey
There are two baptisms with Albert Obed OVERINGTON as father and Charlotte Frances as mother but cannot find at present on the 1901 Census. I believe they then emigrated to Australia.

Then there is her husband Eli and children Leslie George HARRIS aged 5 born Dorking, Surrey and Norah Mabel HARRIS aged 8 months born Dorking, Surrey
  10. 1891 Westcott Common, Dorking, Surrey.
1901 The Common, Dorking Road, Dorking, Surrey
1911 Institute Road, Westcott Dorking, Surrey,  Elizabeth is down as having had 2 children, one of whom had died by the date of this Census. With the family were two borders a William MARTIN aged 28 born Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire a Garden Domestic and a Frank TICKNER aged 27 born Westcott, Dorking, Surrey a Farm Labourer.
I am certain that Oliver Arthur and his wife emigrated to Western Australia. (will add Electoral Roll details later)
1913 it would appear that when they emigrated, Oliver and Elizabeth had another son Kenneth, we knew about the other son listed Percy, but this confirms it is the correct family.
1916 Katanning, Swan, Western Australia, Australia (Australian Electoral Roll)
I think there were at least four children for this family. Percy Arthur 1908, Kenneth 1912 Donald Oliver 1914 and Ronald Edward 1916.

I have now changed the Charts, so the main heading duplicates the name on the Chart ie OVERTUN, OVERTON, OVERINGTON etc - there are lots of variants. However all the link boxes are OVERTUN and the list in the Index are all spelt OVERTUN. This is so that all the names are in one position and in order in the contents list.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
