    Pocock, Rev. Herbert Charles
    The Mayor and Mayoress were among a large body of mourners who attended the funeral service at St. Andrew’ s Church of the Rev. and Mrs. Herbert Charles Pocock.
    Mr. Pocock who had been curate at St. Andrew’ s since September, 1941 – it was his first curacy – was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Pocock, of The Mall, Ealing. He was for many years a church worker at St. Saviour’ s, Ealing and was employed in the Town Clerk’ s office in the same town.
    Mr. Pocock was a associate of King’ s College, London, ordained deacon in 1941, and priest the following year.
    He was married in July last year, his bride being Elizabeth Frances, elder daughter of Mr. F. W. Trehearne, of Woodville, Ealing.
    “ He was all that a priest might earnestly pray and desire to be,” writes the vicar, the Rev. G. F. Naylor in St. Andrew’ s Parish Magazine Wimbledon Borough News, 3 March 1944
