A lot of the information has also come from a MINTER web site http://www.theminters.co.uk/index.php for which I thank them for all the work they have put in to researching these families.
  9. Sheila has sent me several documents showing Leslie's record as a Merchant Seaman over a long period. A letter of 1956 says:
THE DREDGING & CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LIMITED
    9 New Conduit Street
    Kings Lynn
    Norfolk, England
    4th December 1956
    TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
This is to certify that Mr. L. P. Minter of Dover, Kent was employed as an A.B. or Dredging Deckhand aboard the large Bucket Dredger "Humber" from June 1942 until February, 1943.
During this period Mr. Minter accompanied the Dredger on works at Larne, Northern Ireland; Bowling on the River Clyde and at Military Port No. 2, Cairnryan, near Stranraer.
Mr. Minter left the Company of his own accord to return to his home at Dover and during the period of his employment with us his services were satisfactory in every way.
    Yours faithfully,
    R.D. CLARK
    Managing director.

The initial information on this pages is from Sheila KILVINGTON née RILEY the youngest child on the chart above. As most of the children and their spouses will still be alive at the time of putting this chart on the Web I have only put names on for them unless I have been informed that they have died. Have now added additional information as Sheila has sent them to me.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
