The sisters name gives us Elizabeth's maiden name.
1920 Philadelphia Ward 46, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
    1930 Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
Having looked on the Web I believe that Thomas Waterman SIDNEY-WILMOT changed his name to Thomas Waterman MACDONALD, I am not sure when he changed his name but he appears to have gone firstly to Canada and then in 1931 applied for citizenship in the US.
For this I have found quite a bit about him and have now added a chart to show his wife and children.
The US Naturalization Record reads as follows:
To the Honorable the District Court of the United States for the District of Pennsylvania.
The petition of Thomas Waterman MacDonald

Fifth I declare my intention to become a citizen of the United States on the 13 day of March anno Domini 1917 at Noristown Pennsylvania in the C.P. Couth of Montgomery Co.
Sixth I am married. My wife's name is Elizabeth; she was born on the 2 day of October anno Domini 1875 at Bridgeport, Pennsylvania and now resides with me.
I have two children and the name, date and place of birth and place of residence of each of said children is as follows:

Mary Elizabeth Mar 18, 1913 Thorold, Canada, with me

    Thomas Waterman MACDONALD
Declaration of Intention No 1209 and Certificate of Arrival, for the department of Labor filed this 19 Day of April 1920
There are further documents attached, some are on top of each other and it is not possible to read them but there is a Certificate of Arrival dated March 19 1930 which states something like the above which is pasted on top of another form, this nearly states the same as the above but does dates that his wife was Elizabeth Mary and that she was born in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania is now resides at 19 Front St., Bridgeport, Pennsylvania.
I found on Ancestry for a Thomas Waterman WILMOT the following which first made me think that he had changed his name to MacDonald in the England, Andrews Newspaper Cards, 1790- 1976 dated 24th September 1960 London, England, there is a similar entry dated 24th April 1960
WILMOT (Thomas Waterman), deceased (otherwise Thomas Waterman MacDonald. - Will the issue, or anyone who has knowledge of the whereabouts of the issue of the before named, who may have married prior to 1908 and who formerly lived at Dover and Tunbridge Wells and went America in or about 1908, kindly contact Messrs. F. W. Hughes * Son. 16 Connaught-Street , Hyde Park, London, W.2.
I then found an Anne trying to locate Thomas, on the 24th June 2008 she wrote
I am trying to locate Thomas Waterman who left the UK mysteriously and went to Canada, changing his surname to Macdonald. He was married Eda Jane Barringer and they had a son and daughter called Mary. This must be same person but the wife's name does not tie up with what the US Citizenship papers says. (Infomation received 16/1/2013 by Jean WHEATON shows that Thomas married Ada Jane BARRINGER née BODMAN 30 September 1901 in England and had two children with her in 1903 and 1904)
    Comment from JKW 17/1/2013
Thomas married in England in 1901, the above "request for Descendants" notice states he went to America in 1908, his son was born in New York in 1910; however, his Naturalization paper show he arrived in the USA from Canada in 1914, but on the 1930 census Thomas is shown as arriving in the USA in 1890 ....
On the 1930 census his daughter Mary who was born in Canada in 1913 is shown as arriving in the US in 1915, on his naturalization paper in 1914
For the emigration information I have entered "arrived USA about 1908, to Canada between 1910 and 1913, entered USA 1914"

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
