    Obituary for Donald R STEMP
CHATFIELD -- Donald R. Stemp, 77, of Chatfield, former longtime owner of the Chatfield drug store, died Monday (Oct. 25, 1993) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester where he had been a patient five days.
Born Jan. 16, 1916, in Montreal, Quebec, he later moved to Tracy, Minn., and graduated from high school there in 1934. He attended the University of Minnesota from 1934 to 1938 and received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy. On Nov. 30, 1939, he married Fidelis Gaspard in Caledonia. From November 1939 until purchasing McKlintosk Drug in Chatfield on April 1, 1940, he worked in drug stores in Rochester, Stewartville and Red Wing. Mr. Stemp continued to be active in the store after he retired in 1978 and a son took over operation the business. He was a longtime member of the Chatfield Commercial Club and a member of Minnesota Pharmacists.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David of Chatfield, Ralph of Seattle, Wash., and Mark of Juneau, Alaska; a daughter, Gretchen (Mrs. Milo) Tuma of Muskego, Wis.; and nine grandchildren. A sister preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chatfield with Monsignor Joseph R. McGinnis officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Ralph STEMP believes his father was born in Oldham, England. Donald Ralph STEMP returned to America soon after his birth. However, an Aunt suggests he was born in Montreal on the journey that Frank and his wife made back to England for Frank to be involved in war service.
The discharge papers for him show him as being born in Montreal.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
