On 21st November 2010 I had an email from a Carolyn FRIEND née STEMP who is the Great Granddaughter of Joseph, she thinks that Joseph and Delia only had one child Eric but Eric had five children.
Messages from Carolyn FRIEND née STEMP
My youngest daughter Chloe asked me to do up our ancestry, and I found your website. I noticed there was no family connected to Joseph Stemp born in 1882, son of Leonard Stemp. I believe I am his great grand-daughter.
My Dad's name was Eric Stemp, and his Dad's name was Joseph Stemp from Palmwoods.
I believe my Dad was an only child, but he had five of us:- Paul Steven born Feb 1960, Carolyn Patricia (me) born March 1962; Lynette Catherine ; Lorraine Monica; and Michael Anthony.
Will have to double check the years my other siblings were born.
    Kind Regards
    Carolyn Friend (nee Stemp)
    and
You have noted that I contacted you in 2010 and I am the great grand-daughter of Joseph Stemp in this chart.
Joseph is actually my Grandfather. His son was Eric. I am Eric's daughter, one of 5 children. I am the second eldest.
I do remember writing to you as my youngest daughter was interested in her family history. I have two girls.
I believe my brother Steve Stemp has also been in touch with you. He is the eldest.
    Kind Regards
    Carolyn Friend (nee Stemp)
  2. 1911 6 De Crespigny Park, Camberwell S E. We believe that this is the correct Delia HALPIN but age does not tie up with that given when sailing to Australia. She is down as beinG 26 on this Census. She was with an Edward Collins BONSFIELD (55) Medical Practitioner (a Bacteriologist) Public Health born Newark, Nottinghamshire and his wife Clara (57) (married 28 years and had 4 children all still living) Housewife born Bromham, Bedfordshire. Children were Edward Alec Robert BONSFIELD (24) Schoolmaster L.C.C. born Camberwell S.E and Guy William John BONSFIELD (17) Student (Matric) also born Camberwell, S.E. There was another servant with the family, Florence WEEDEN (22) born 44 Eynesford
Road, Camberwell, London1933 10 Mundania Road, Peckham, Camberwell, London (London Electoral Roll)
1934 10 Mundania Road, East Dulwich SE22  (down as being 34) (Emigration details)
1935 Musgarave Road, Red Hill, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (address age marriage) Father Thomas HALPIN, mother Mary GAVIN
1937 Palmwoods, Landsborough, Wide Bay, Queensland Australia (Australia Electoral Roll)
1943 Palmwoods, Landsborough, Wide Bay, Queensland Australia (Australia Electoral Roll)
1949 Palmwoods, Landsborough, Fisher, Queensland Australia (Australia Electoral Roll)
1954 Palmwoods, Landsborough, Fisher, Queensland, Australia (Australia Electoral Roll)
1958 Palmwoods, Landsborough, Fisher, Queensland, Australia (Australia Electoral Roll)
1967 At death parents given as Thomas HALPIN and Mary GAVIN
Problems about Delia HALPIN's age, comments from John TERRY 11/4/2015
The address for the Miss Delia HALPIN who sailed in 1934 was 10 Mundarnia Road, East Dulwich SE22, she was a Domestic Help and is definitely down as being 34 which ties in with the 1911 address being in Camberwell. But in 1911 she is shown as being 26 and born in Clare Ireland (I would think she was Irish as nearly all the HALPINS I have found were born in Ireland and there are lots of them)
She sailed in 1933 and the marriage is in 1935 so it still appears that this was the right Delia, but the earlier birth date would mean she would have been 50 in 1935 and she had Eric after that so I think her age on the 1911 Census is incorrect but I think it is the right person
So somewhere it appears she had given the wrong age
  3.
  4. 1968 25 Blaxland Street, Golden Beach, Landsborough, Fisher, Queensland, Australia. (Australia Electoral Roll) We were given an Eric as the child of this couple, I believe that this Eric at this address is this child.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
