    Both David STEMP and Jean WHEATON read this name as AGATE in the Parish Register. However, the transcript shows AYETT 
    No father’s name in Marriage Register in 1873. I thought I had found parents on 1851 Census and baptism but I believe she married again when George died in 1900 and on her marriage to Frederick POWELL in 1901 she has put down her father as James ANDREWS Soldier (deceased)

    1936 I have chosen this death for Frederick as the daughter of Laura Jane (note 7), Ellen Mary SANDERCOCK née STEPHENS (note 6) on Stephens/Stevens Spooner.Botting Chart 0400 was living in that area at that time.

    The marriage shows Fanny's names as RENMENT but I believe it was REMNANT and the it was her brother who appears as a Boarder on the 1881 Census.

    I can find no marriage for a John BOTTING to a Laura JANE SPOONER whereas there is a marriage for a Laura Jane STEVENS to a John SPOONER so I do think John SPOONER and John BOTTING are the same person.

    This chart has queries throughout, although what I have found is definite there are several problems, the only definite thing about the people's names is George STEMP, his wife could have been AGATE AGETT or ANDREWS, Frederick POWELL had children with the surname STEVENS, Laura was shown on a Census as AGETT but married as STEMP and her second husband has surname SPOONER but appears to appear on 1911 Census as BOTTING and so it goes on.
