  1. 1861 Census - Shere, Surrey. There was also Ann's mother Dorothy MANSELL, aged 80 born Hampshire, a Pauper with the family.
  2. IGI baptism, submitted by a member of the LDS church.
  3. 1871 Census - Sutton Place, Shere, Surrey. Servant to a William KENNETT, aged 28 a Farmer of 155 Acres employing 4 labourers and 2 boys, he was single and born in Sussex.
  4. BMD marriage - I am certain that this is the correct marriage, but not certain that he married Mary Jane WOODS - there are three men and two women listed, so there is a woman missing - On the 1881 Census George is married to a Jane so it is possible that she was using her second name, on the other hand the third woman could be a Jane ???. That is the reason for the possibly before the Mary Jane WOODS on the Chart above. Having said that, having now looked at the 1881 Census there is a son down as James WOODS, aged 3 born Guildford, Surrey, so it would appear that I have the correct marriage and that Mary Jane either had a child before marriage or was married previously to a ??? WOODS.
  5. 1881 Census - 19 Clandon Street, East Clandon, Surrey. (see note 13). They had a son George TICKNER, aged 11 months born Shere, Surrey and also there is a son down as James WOODS, aged 3 born Guildford, Surrey
  6. IGI marriage date, having found on the BMD I have confirmed the marriage and got the actual date by looking on the IGI
  7. 1891 Census - High Patir? Road, Merrow, Surrey. Children on this Census - James 13 born Guildford (down as TICKNER on this Census, not WOODS as he was on the 1881 Census), Frank, 7 a Scholar, born Shere, Surrey, Emily 5 and Ethel 2 both born Shere, Surrey.
  8. Cannot find family on 1901 Census. I think I have found the death of George in 1903 but still cannot find. One of the children was a Frank and I think I have found him in Dorking. As there are charts to do for all the children on this chart is it possible that when I do these I will find the families I have not found on various Censuses at that stage as I find it easier to search for the various things I have to when the are laid out in front of me in the form of a Chart, not as the Notes below.
  9. It is possible that George married again, there is a George TICKNER, the correct age (1853) born in Peaslake, Surrey to a Mary Ann, aged 44 (1857) born in London and living in Hurstwood, Shere, Surrey. He is a General Labourer, and he is the only George TICKNER that comes up born in 1853 with one year either side, so I feel that he is the correct person. It would appear that Mary Jane had died in 1898, I cannot find a marriage on the BMD that gives me a George TICKNER to a Mary Ann in Surrey or London. I have left chart as it is without this marriage on at the present time, I have added occupation for 1901. There was only George and Mary Ann on this Census - no children. I can find nothing definite for any of the children on the 1901 Census. There is an Emily TICKNER born 1886 in Aldbury, Surrey as a Servant that could be the correct one, but because of the birth place I am not 100 per cent certain she is the correct one, although Shere comes under Aldbury.
  10. IGI Baptism

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
