  1. 1851 Census - Shere, Surrey
  2. IGI Baptism and Family Tree Programme for Baptism and Birth - Note that there is only four months between the supposed births of these children, so I think this confirms that the birth dates are really baptism dates and that it looks like Hester was baptised sometime after her birth. Unfortunately I cannot find a Hester TICKNER on the BMD at all in Surrey, There is a John TICKNER in the December quarter of 1847 in the Guildford district who I think would be the correct child.
  3. 1861 Census - Gravel Pits, Shere, Surrey
  4. 1871 Census - Gomshall, Shere, Surrey
  5. 1891 Census - Lane End Farm, Shere, Surrey. John and Ada had two children on this Census.
  6. 1901 Census - Lane End Farm, Shere, Surrey. One of the children, Percy still with them. (his first name was Arthur)
  7. 1881 Census - Lane End, Shere, Surrey.
  8. IGI baptism, only mothers name given as Mary. There is a Jane Emily CHEESEMAN baptised on 25th February 1849 in Shere, Surrey with a George and Mary as her parents so I would think this is a sibling of Mary and therefore I think the father of Ada was George.
  9. There is a discrepancy in the age of John, there is a registration for a John as shown in Note 2 for December quarter of 1847. However the John on the 1881m 1891 and 1901 Census shows him as being 31, 42 and 51, which is a birth date of 1850. On the 1881 Census at Lend End, so it would appear the correct person in relation to the 1891 and 1901 John and Ada have a son Alf W I who is 8 a Scholar and born in Shere. This would mean he was born in 1873 whereas his parents according to the IGI and BMD did not marry until 1877. Again quite possible but it adds another query to this Chart. It is possible that this was John's second marriage, or it was a child of Ada's from a previous marriage/relationship.
  10. IGI Marriage and BMD marriage information
  11. 1901 Census - Brook, Albury, Surrey. Helena was a Servant on this Census to an Eliza M LESLIE a widow and her family. On every census the name Helena has been interpreted wrongly. I have kept with the name as it was registered on the BMD. It is down as Lina on this Census, Celena on the 1881 etc.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
