Florence who died in St Leonards has already moved there in 1911 she was of Private Means and had with her a Companion a Barbara AITHEN aged 48 born Edinburgh, Midlothian, she was a retired sick nurse, with them was a Phoebe BROWN aged 36 a Servant Cook born Brighton, Sussex and an Eva Alice GOWER aged 28 a Servant Housemaid born South Willesborough, Kent. There is a Probate for Florence Dacomb UNDERDOWN as follows: UNDERDOWN Florence Dacombe of Ashbrook Hall Lower Glen Road St. Leonards, on-Sea spinster died 3 August 1958 Probate London 2 December to Ellis Norton Cunliffe solicitor and John Herbert Winstanley Shirley retried commander R.N. With Emily was a Servant a Rose Alice RICHARDSON aged 46 born Crossgate Moor, Durham a Cook and Gwendoine BURKE aged 22 a Servant born Southbank, Yorkshire a Housemaid. 1947 UNDERDOWN Emily of 4 Ravenscroft-avenue Golders Green Middlesex spinster died 15 August 1947 Probate London 30 October to Florence Dacombe Underdown spinster and Kenneth Mossman and Ellis Norton Cunliffe Solicitors. There were three Servants with the household. 1881 Sandy Lane, Godalming, Surrey, Herbert William UNDERDOWN was a Scholar, a Boarder. lots of other Scholar, the head was a Sidney Wills LOCK aged 34 a Schoolmaster M.A. Caius. born Dorchester, Dorset (his wife and two children were with him) 1891 92 Lord Street, North Meols, Lancashire 1901 71 Filgyshire? Avenue, St John, Hampstead, Hebert a Solicitor aged 36 was at this address with two servants. I believe therefore that the death of his mother in Hampstead is correct. 1911 Not found at present 1944 UNDERDOWN Herbert William of Suttons Hospital Brighton-road Godalming Surrey died 29 March 1944 Probate Llandudno 10 October to Florence Dacombe Underdown spinster Effect £137 18s 2d.
