1851 Census - St Nicholas at Wade, Kent. On 1851 Census Eliza is down as being born in Birchington, Kent. 1861 Census, Michael and Mary WATSON were living at St Nicholas at Wade, Kent. We had already had the information that William WATSON was born 26th February 1843 which would make him around 17 or 18 on the 1861 Census. There are four more children which have been added to this chart from details found on the 1861 Census. It is quite likely that there are more children than this. Michael does not appear with the rest of the family. 1871 Census - Epple Bay Road Cottages, Birchington, Kent. On this census Michael is down as Mike. The details for the family are as before starting with Mary to Sarah for the children, then three new additions as added to the Chart above. 1881 Census - 56 Milton Road, Margate St John Baptist, Kent 1891 Census - Mary is down as Head, a Widow, Laundress age 67, born St Nicholas, so correct person. Her daughter Sarah is living with her aged 36, married and down as DAVIS, but no other people in house, which was 3 Hughenden Terrace, Birchington, Kent. Cannot find on 1901 Census. 1851 Census - St Nicholas at Wade, Kent. On 1851 Census Eliza is down as being born in Birchington, Kent. I cannot find a William WATSON, born in 1843 in Kent which matches this person. There is a John WATSON, born 1843 in St Nicholas which could be the same person. Our informant might have had the name incorrect. There is a Grandson, William WATSON, born 1870 in Minster on this Census, but I would think that it is more than likely the son of William WATSON born 26th February 1843 on Chart above than the son of Mary, as I think if she was down as unmarried he could be her son but as she says she is married I would expect another surname for the Grandson. Also as he was born in Minster and the family all lived in St Nicholas it is likely that William WATSON had moved to Minster. 1861 Census, Michael and Mary WATSON were living at St Nicholas at Wade, Kent. I am certain this is the correct person, as information ties in exactly with what we had. They are living at 8 James Terrace, Margate Road, Birchington, Kent. Frederick WATSON is 38 a Bricklayer born St Nicholas, Kent, Emma his wife is 39 and born in Liverpool, Lancashire, their children are Lily M WATSON, daughter age 13 born Garlinge, Kent, Harriett C WATSON daughter, age 11 born Margate, Kent, May E WATSON, daughter, age 9 born Margate, Kent, Alexander WATSON, son age 7 born Margate, Kent and Frederick WATSON, son age 5 born Birchington, Kent. 1861 Census, Michael and Mary WATSON were living at St Nicholas at Wade, Kent. We had already had the information that William WATSON was born 26th February 1843 which would make him around 17 or 18 on the 1861 Census. This is the only possibility for Sarah assuming she married before 1881 which she might not have down. Her husband was a George W DAVIS aged 29 born Hawkhurst, Kent and a Bricklayer and they had a daughter Ellen E DAVIS, aged 2 born Penge, Kent. As I am not certain about this I have left as a Note only. 1891 Census - Mary is down as Head, a Widow, Laundress age 67, born St Nicholas, so correct person.
