  1. 1805-1806 The following appears in the London Gazette in this period, does this relate to this Samuel WHINERAY
    Notice is herby given that the Partnership lately carried on and subsisting between William Warhurst of Ulverston, in the County of Lancaster, Joseph Procter, of the same Place, Joseph Greene, of the same Place, Daniel Mandell, of the same Place, Robert Sandys, of Lowick, in the Parish of Ulverston aforesaid, John Strickland, of Russland, in Coulton, in the said Court, And Samuel Whineray of Dunnerdale, in the said County, Cotton-Spinners, by a certain Memorandum of Agreement, in writing, bearing Date the 4th Day of November 1805, mutually agreed that the said Partnership should from and after the 1st Day of January then next, and now last past, be mutually dissolved and at an end, and the the same is accordingly dissolved and at an end: Notice is also herby given, that all Debts due and owing to and from the said Copartnership will be received, paid, and discharged by the said William Warhurst and Joseph Procter, at the Houses, in Ulverston aforesaid

  3. 1841 Whineray Ground, Dunnerdale, Kerkby Ireleth, Lancashire John aged 66 and Mary appear as the mane people. Then I assume son William aged 30 and then I think Hannah his wife also down as 30 (ages were rounded up and down for adults to the nearest five years on this Census), Then there is a Thomas WHINERAY down as 20 (could this be another son of John and Mary), then John aged 4 months who because of the 1851 Census I believe to be a son of William and Hannah, then there is a William PROCTOR aged 15 a Male Servant and a Sarah TONSON?, 15 a Female Servant with the family.
    1851 Whineray Ground, Dunnerdale with Seathwaite, Lancashire. John was head, with him was his son William aged 43 and his wife Hannah and children John and Mary. Also with them was an Edward RAWLINSON aged 30 a Farm servant born Hawkshead, Westmoreland, a Soloman BERKET 16 a Farm Servant born Ulpha, Cumberland and a Hannah POSTLETHWAITE aged 17 a House Servant born Seathwaite, Lancashire.
