With Henry John and his wife Elizabeth was an Elsie WOOD a Visitor aged 3 birth place unknown 1939 Public Assistance Institution, 10 Trafalgar Road., Gravesend, Kent (too many residents to show) A list of births of the family of Henry John STEDMAN found by Gladys WOOD née THOROGOOD at the beginning of 1998 indicates that the full name of Elizabeth BARRY was Mary Ann Elizabeth BARRY, this is the first indication that she had any other names. This might make it possible to find her marriage and birth certificates. It also gave us a complete list of birth dates for all the children, making it even more unlikely that the name of Fanny which appears in the 1891 census was correct. I have now found her marriage certificate which uses the name Elizabeth. I have therefore put Elizabeth back as the first name and followed them with the two other in parenthesis.
