  1. 1841 Census - Monks Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
  2. 1841 Census - Monks Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1851 Census - Monk? Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
  3. 1841 Census - Monks Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1851 Census - Monk? Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1861 Census - Glazes Lane, Ash, Farnborough, Surrey. Ellen BROWN was with her brother and family on this Census.
1871 Census - Rock Place, Godalming, Surrey
1881 Census - Rock Place, Godalming, Surrey.
Information from Andy Brown who is a grandson of Kathleen TICKNER and Walter BROWN- Charles Brown's father was William Brown ( abt 1837) who shows on the 1871 census with wife Lucy(1837) , and children James(1868), Louisa (1864), Charles, Alfred (1870) and William(1866) and Arthur (1873)
  4. 1841 Census - Monks Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1851 Census - Monk? Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1871 Census - East Ville, Lincolnshire. - Although discrepancies on following Censuses I think this one proves that the following ones are correct. James is down as being born in Wanborough on this Census, it also appears that he was married twice and his first wife was Sarah, and she was born in Bilsby which is where the eldest son on the 1881 Census was born and then they are living in East Ville which is where the next children on the 1881 Census were born. The children on this Census were Frederick BROWN, aged 8 born Paddington, London, George BROWN aged 5 born Paddington, London, Robert BROWN aged 3 born Bilsby, Lincolnshire and Thomas BROWN aged 1 born East Ville, Lincolnshire.
1881 Census - Jessops House, Orby, Lincolnshire. Wife down as being born in Maltby, Lincolnshire on this Census. Children: Robert 13 Scholar, born Bilsby, Lincolnshire, Francis 11 Scholar, born East Ville, Lincolnshire, Rosanna 6 Scholar, born East Ville, Lincolnshire, William 1 born east Cumberwood? Lincolnshire and Jessey aged 2 weeks born Orby, Lincolnshire. (I do think this is the correct family although birth places do not tie up exactly with 1891 Census)
1891 Census - Stene? Villa, Thorney Road, Crowland, Lincolnshire. Children Herbert W 11 Scholar, born Alford, Lincolnshire, Jessey BROWN 11, Scholar, born Alford, Lincolnshire, James A 10 Scholar born Coombes Thorney, Lincolnshire, Annie 5 born Coombes Thorney, Lincolnshire, George 3 born North Eye, Lincolnshire.

  5. 1841 Census - Monks Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1851 Census - Monk? Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1861 Census - Eashing Farm House, Godalming, Surrey. Servant to a Sarah Ann VEACHER, down as wife, aged 36 born Bramshill, Hampshire and her family.
    Baptism information comes from http://freespace.virgin.net/ar.indexes/puttbaps.htm
  6. 1851 Census - Puttenham, Surrey. Living with his Grandparents, William EADE aged 63 a Labourer Farmer? born Farnham, Surrey and Margaret EADE aged 69 a Labourers wife born Peper Harow, Surrey
1861 Census - Flexford?, Ash,  Surrey. Frank was a servant to a LOVELOCK family.
1871 Census - Horton, Kingston Lane, Epsom, Surrey. A boarder with a William MARSHALL and his family.
Andy BROWN has found the baptism below and then Frank with his Grandparents on the 1851 Census. They are shown with the name EADE do we have to assume that it was the parents of Mary above. We had the marriage down as William BROWN to Mary MARSH but we now believe, because of this information, that this is incorrect and it should be Mary EADE.
1891 Census - At 1 Lim Road, Croydon, Surrey, there is a Frank BROWN down as aged 53 born Wanborough, Surrey. I think this could be this Frank, he is married to a Jane, also 53 born in Croydon, Surrey, and as there is a Step son she must have been married before, so perhaps as Frank was younger than this (should be 49) he had perhaps made himself a bit older to match his wifes age). I have also on the 1881 Census, (9 Pitt Road, Guildford, Surrey) but on this one his age is also wrong (born 1833), he is down as being born in Guildford and his wife Jane is down as being born in Maidstone. It therefore seems that they either did not know the correct information or gave it inaccurately for some reason. I have not added above at the present time as I am not certain this is the correct person.

  8. 1851 Census - Monk? Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.

  9. 1851 Census - Monk? Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1871 Census - The Street, Puttenham, Surrey. servant to a James HEWETT, Landowner etc, and his family, he was 39 but no birth place shown.
1881 Census - Harlane, Thames Ditton, Surrey. Wife is down as Elizabeth, aged 31 born Puttenham, Surrey. (I have Caroline - I have found that he did marry a Caroline in 1893). Children - Emily 10 born Puttenham, Surrey and Jane 2 born Ochots (Oxshott?).
1891 Census - 24? Spott Street, Battersea, London. Richard s a widower and Jane his daughter is with him down as 13 born Oxshott, Surrey.
1901 Census - 27 Stanmer Street, Battersea, London
I think that Richard's second marriage was to Caroline Mary A REED as shown. On the 1891 Census there is a Caroline M REED born 1846 in Lambeth London which ties up with the information after her marriage on the 1901 Census. She is at 32 Yelerton Road,  Battersea, a Lodger, a Widow, a Charwoman, born Lambeth London.

  10. 1851 Census - Monk? Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
1861 Census - Glazes Lane, Ash, Farnborough, Surrey. Ellen BROWN was with her brother and family on this Census.
1871 Census - 63 North End, Croydon, Surrey. Servant to a Francis CHITTY.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
