The ward in the new Guildford Hospital had been named after Sir John JARVIS. On the 1st August 1930 the first baby was born there and the nurses suggested that he too should be called Jarvis.
Newspaper report, May 2001 - Pair named - An elderly couple who died after the 20 year old car they were in collided with a car transporter on the M4 have been named by the police, The pair were 70-year -old Jarvis Edward BUNCE and his 73-year old wife Jean from Parry Road, Gloucester.
They were travelling east in the Ford Cortina near Theale last Thursday Police closed all three lanes of the motorway temporarily while the emergency services were at the scene and debris cleared. An inquest was opened in Newbury on Tuesday and adjourned.
It was later decided that the accident was caused by a tyre. Jarvis had replaced a tyre on the car with the spare which was 20 years old, and this had been in the boot, unused for some time, and although it complied with regulations and had adequate tread, the fact that it had not been used for some time had caused it to deteriorate, becoming brittle and hard so that it disintegrated.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
