Boarding with them was Elizabeth GOULD (96) widow born Poole, Dorset 1901 Garland Road, Longfleet, Dorset as Thomas In 1901 Thomas gives his birth place as Bere Regis, in 1891 his brother Richard gives his as Arne both in Dorset. I think that both men were born in Wareham, in the Workhouse, as their address was the Workhouse for 1861 and 1871. However, neither would probably want to say that was where they were born, so in later life Thomas gives his birth place as Bere Regis, and Richard gave Arne as his birthplace. 1871 Workhouse, Wareham, Dorset 1881 Not found 1891 5 Springfield Terrace, South Road, Poole, Dorset . Richard gave his age as 31 years, so was born in 1860. He was actually 28 years old, 7 years younger than his wife. It is possible that his wife was even older than she said as she was possibly born in 1853. There is an Ann LOVELL, granddaughter born 1853 Poole, Dorset on the 1871 census living with Ann LEE, Head born 1809 Sturminster, Dorset 1891 Market Street, Poole, Dorset. (address at marriage) 1892 Poole Dorset (baptism of Daisy Lilian) 1895 Poole Dorset (baptism of Eva Gwendoline) 1901 31 Fish Street, Poole, Dorset. Together with step children Annie and Minnie BUTLER In 1891 Richard gave his birthplace as Arne, in 1901 his brother Thomas gives his birth place as Bere Regis. I think that both men were born in Wareham, in the Workhouse, as their address was the Workhouse for 1861 and 1871.
