1841 Newington, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent 1848 8 Woburn Place, Bloomsbury, London (at marriage) 1851 Not found at present 1861 Census - A John CORNELIUS born 1827 in St Lawrence, Kent was a Butler at 20 Eversfield Place, Hastings, Sussex. 1871 Naggs Head St Mary Magdalene, Hasting, Sussex. Arthur their son is with them and there are 7 Lodgers 1881 28 Pelham Street, St Mary in the Castle, Hastings, Sussex. There were three visitors with them. 1891 Not found at present 1901 237 London Road, St Mary Magdalene, Hasting, Sussex. John was with a son a William CORNELIUS aged 52 a Coach Builder born St Leonards, Sussex, his wife was Julia aged 50 born St Leonards, Sussex and children William aged 30 a Coach Builder born St Leonards, Sussex, Frank aged 22 a Teacher School born St Leonards, Sussex and Lottie aged 18 born St Leonards, Sussex, Then there is John a Widower, down as Father, Living on own means and then an Ann GREVETT Mother-in-Law a Widow aged 84 born St Leonards, Sussex. 1848 37 New Broad Street, London (at marriage) Father William PILCHER - Carpenter 1851 Not found at presnet 1861 3 Undercliffe Terrace, Hastings, Sussex, Charlotte is down as married but John is now with her (He is a Butler in the same town) with her is William son age 13 a Scholar born Little Bourne, Kent and Arthur aged 7 a Scholar born St Leonards, Sussex. with her is a Denets? PILCHER a Visitor (female) aged 17 a Dressmaker born little Bourne, Kent (I wonder if this is a sister of Charlotte and her maiden name was PILCHER) There is a marriage in September quarter 1848 in St Giles district of London where a Charlotte PILCHER married and one of the men listed is a John CORNELIUS. now found actual marriage and father is Matthew CORNELIUS so certain correct marriage. 1871 Naggs Head St Mary Magdalene, Hasting, Sussex. Arthur their son is with them and there are 7 Lodgers 1881 28 Pelham Street, St Mary in the Castle, Hastings, Sussex. With t he family was a Rosa CORNELIUS an Aunt unmarried aged 49 born Ickham, Kent and a Lodger a Sarah WOOD a Widow aged 55 formerly a Dressmaker born Staplefield, Sussex, she is down as Paralysed 1891 26 Lower South Road, St Leonards, Hasting, Sussex. With the family is an Ernest WOOD a Visitor born ??? Kent and his wife Annie aged 41 born Bristol, Gloucestershire 1901 237 London Road, St Mary Magdalene, Hasting, Sussex.
