    Edward ELBEL is charged, on warrant, with deserting his wife, Celia Elbe, Female Refuge, Ballarat East, at Steiglitz, on the 26th February last. Description:- English, baker, 25 year of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, thin build, fair complexion and hair; wore, when last seen, a black coat, dark moleskin trousers, and black soft felt had. Supposed to be working at Geelong. - O.4753. 4th June, 1894.

    Francis Alexander FROST alias Edward ELBEL charged with maliciously wounding Matthew NICHOLSON has been arrested by Senior-constable Freeland, North Sydney Police. Also charged with Maliciously wounding Joseph Charles ISAAC on the same occation. Committed for trail at Quarter Sessions on each charge. Is identical with Edward ELBEL, photo book 47, page 16 and discharged prisoner, vide Police Gazette, 1904 page 435
    On 23rd May 1904 he was imprisoned for 12 months for the above offence.
