Living with Emily and her son Ronald was her widowed mother Ruth HEATHER Unpaid Domestic Duties Information from John Wanstall 5/6/2006 An account was written by Kay PARKE, grand daughter of Emily Matilda: Emily Matilda was born 3rd May 1892 and married Sydney Thomas HAYWARD on 27th September 1919. They moved to Porth in Wales where my father was born 7 November 1920. Within six weeks of his birth Sydney was killed in a mining accident. He was a mine engineer and was not on duty when there was a fall; the on duty engineer was found to be drunk, and Sydney went down to assess the damage. There was a further fall and he pushed his 16 year old assistant to safety, but was fatally injured himself. Emily then moved back to Surrey. Kay PARKE 1939 Meadrow , Godalming M.B., Surrey. Living with Ronald and his mother was his widowed grandmother Ruth HEATHER Unpaid Domestic Duties 1965 158 Hook Road, Surbiton, Surrey (address given at probate)
