Obituary - Miss Minnie Hiscock - In the passing of Miss Minnie Hiscock, whose death occurred at her residence on August 29 (1941) at the age of 82 years, the district has losr a well known and highly respected pioneer. Miss Hiscock was the eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs James Hiscock, of The Elms, Lower Crawford. Born at Hotspur where she spent her childhood, she moved with her parents to Lower Crawford where they took up land and lived there until 1917. She then returned to Hotspur where she made her home. During her long life her hospitality was widely known throughout the district. In her younger days Miss Hiscock was a good horsewoamn, and rode many miles to attend balls and social functions. On one occasion at the age of seven years, accompanied by her father, she rode on horse-back from Hotspur to Birregurra taking only three days to do the trip.
Miss Hiscock was predeceased by her two sisters Eliza and Augusta (Mrs A Campbell)
A nephew and niece Jim and Jean are left to mourn the loss of a devoted aunt. After a service at the home, the funeral which was largely represented by friends of the deceased left for the Hotspur cemetery, where Rev. Mr. Robins (Church of England, Heywood), read the burial service.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
