  1. 1842 - shoemaker (son George John’s baptism record)
    1847 - shoemaker (daughter Eliza’s baptism record)
1848 - shoemaker (daughter Eliza Jane’s baptism record)
  2. 1851 Census - 10 Seale Street, Jersey, Channel Islands. - George away from home (wife Nancy recorded as ‘ship’s carpenter’s wife’) With family was Ann (Nancy's) father, John Le Cras Senior, aged 58 a Shipwright Journeyman, born St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands and her brother John Le Cras Jnr aged 20? a Shoemaker, born St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands.
1861 Census - 10 Seale Street, Jersey, Channel Islands. - George had died - Nancy recorded as ‘widow’. John Le Cras aged 40? Blacksmith was with the family.
1871 Census - John Le Cras, Nancy's brother is Head of Household, at 10 Seale Street, Jersey, Channel Islands, a Blacksmith, aged 48 born St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands. Nancy is down as his sister, aged 50, a Tailoress, Eliza is down correctly as Niece, aged 23 a Milliner, but there is an Ada JOLIN aged 5 also down as a niece, born St Helier, Jersey, which I do not know where she fits in. Cannot be the child of George and Nancy as he had died at least 10 years before. I can only assume Nancy had had a relationship with someone else and had another child (Ada) and then she would have been John's niece. I cannot see how any other relationship would have given John a niece with the surname JOLIN. So that is what I have shown on the Chart above
Cannot find on 1881 Census - they are definitely not at 10 Seale Street, Jersey, Channel Island. There is an Ada Le CRASE of the correct age down as a niece staying with a Philip Le CRAS which could be the Ada on the 1871 Census, but do not know if this is correct. I would not think it is the correct one for obvious relationship reasons.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
