1861 Census - 32 George Street, Somers Town, St Pancras, Middlesex.
1881 Census - 32 George Street, Somers Town, St Pancras, Middlesex. There is a Margaret HOPKINS, Mother-in-Law, aged 80 born Carlisle, Cumberland with the family. This does not tie up with the Jane BLAKE I have found on the BMD. Either I have the wrong marriage, OR it was Jane's second marriage when she married George Edwin LUPTON, OR Margaret married again after she had Jane BLAKE and I am sure there are even more possibilities to this problem. Have left as it is at present, as I am fairly sure the marriage details are correct. Having looked for a Jane BLAKE born 1826 in Hampshire on Ancestry.com on the 1851 she comes up with a Margaret as a mother and a query with her name with the possibility that her name might be HOPKINS. She married as BLAKE and that is how it shows on the 1851 Census. I think the reasoning behind it that Margaret HOPKINS is Head of Household, a widow aged 50 born Carlisle, a lodging house keeper. Jane is next but she is down as Jane BLAKE but is down as unmarried and being a daughter, born in Southampton, Hampshire. From this I think it is her mother that has at some time remarried, as there are more children after Jane, Margaret HOPKINS aged 18, Robert HOPKINS, aged 16 a Bankers Clerk, and George HOPKINS, aged 12 a Scholar all born in London, Middlesex. I therefore think that Margaret married a BLAKE possibly in the Southampton area and had at least one child. That her husband then died and she moved to London and married a HOPKINS who then also died. I then looked at the IGI and have found a Jane BLAKE baptised in Southampton on 30th April 1826, born 18th February 1826, so this ties up with Jane above and her mother is a Margaret, her father was William, so I think proves that Margaret married twice. I rest my case. Chart now put on for the family of Jane BLAKE.

1891 Census - 29 George Street, Somers Town, St Pancras, Middlesex
This is the only death that ties up on the BMD, I wanted it to be after or around Dorothy's birth until 1901 with a birth date of around 1855. This death meets  this criteria. As he was possibly born in Hampshire perhaps they thought it was a good idea to go to for Convalescence or something.

On 29th June 2013 I received the following information about this family from a
I came across your web site and noticed that you queried the history of the Lupton family and the circumstances that took Henry Alfred Lupton to Bishops Lydeard together with his son Ernest Alfred. Henry Alfred retired to Bishops Lydeard to a property known as Greenway, it still exists as Greenway Cottage. Ernest Alfred went to Greenway because he suffered from TB, he died there and is buried in Ash Priors churchyard. His elder brother George Henry
made a poor marriage and so Henry and his wife left Bishops Lydeard and returned to George Henry's house 106 Whitton Ave Greenford Middlx in the borough of Wembley to look after George's son , me, George Norman and stayed there until they died. They are buried in Golders Green cemetery married in 1959 Joy Arnold now deceased and have two sons Colin and Robert. Colin is married and lives and works in Germany with a German wife Renate and two sons Christopher and Stephen and a daughter Joy. I am well and truly retired and have recently moved into a small property in Bishops Lydeard just 1/2 mile from Greenway Cottage

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
