I think it is possible that Ann's maiden name was ALLPRESS, it is quite a common Warboys name and as one of their children was given this name I think it more than likely that this is the case.

We know John was alive in 1851 and that Ann remarried in 1853. There are three John BEDFORD deaths in St Ives in that period, one June quarter 1851 and two March quarter 1852.
  4. 1861 Broughton, Huntingdonshire. Living with them was George BEDFORD (20) Tailor born Broughton, Huntingdonshire. He was described as a "son-in-law", and was Ann's son from her previous marriage.  Boarding with them was Joseph FORSTER (23) Unmarried Tailor born Broughton, Huntingdonshire.

1871 Chequers Bridge Street, Broughton, Huntingdonshire. Elizabeth MEE (14)  born Wood Walton, Huntingdonshire was a General Servant.
    1881 Village, Leighton, Huntingdonshire
  6. 1861 Broughton, Huntingdonshire.
1881 33 Finsbury Square, St Luke, London. His status was that of Servant, and he was a Warehouseman Assistant in a house where the Head was William BONE (36) born Deane. Hampshire, also a Warehouseman Assistant with his wife Anne (27) born Halbridle, Dorset who was Housekeeper and their daughter Jane (8) Scholar, born Halbridle, Dorset. Also born there was Sarah SENIOR (21) Chambermaid. There were then 20 (including Lewis) Warehouse Assistants.
1891 58 Hanley Road, Islington, London.
1901 The Cross, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. Visiting them was Ernest FREEMAN (28) Single Grocer, born Somersham, Huntingdonshire
1930 There is a Lewis and Annie M ONYETT in San Fransisco, USA (District 276). They are shown as "roomers", the first person in the household is head and proprietor so it is likely that this was a lodging house. Both are from England, Lewis is a Salesman, and emigration dates are 1919 for Lewis and 1910 for Annie. The only problem is the ages as Lewis is shown as being born in 1864 and Annie in 1874. It is a possiblity that the ages are incorrect, but why did Annie emigrate so long before Lewis? Perhaps daughter Cora went to America. Or these might not be this Lewis and Annie!
  7. 1861 Broughton, Huntingdonshire.

Huntingdonshire, a Lodger, John FISHER (46) widower Ag Lab born Broughton, Huntingdonshire and his son William FISHER (19) Ag Lab born Broughton, Huntingdonshire
1861 Mount Street, Dunstable, Bedfordshire. (no children on this Census)
1871 Hive Lane, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. John and Emma had five children on this Census, all born Dunstable, Bedfordshire; Rose S, 8 Scholar, John H, 7 Scholar, Elizabeth A, 5, Scholar, Sarah, 3 and George, 1.
1881 Hive Lane, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. Children on this Census; Emma 17 born Dunstable, Bedfordshire, Elizabeth 15, born Dunstable, Bedfordshire, Jane 12 born Dunstable, Bedfordshire, George 11 born Dunstable, Bedfordshire, Minnie 9 Scholar born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, William 7 Scholar, born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, Harry 5 Scholar, born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, Allpress 3 born Chatteris Cambridgeshire and Fred 3 weeks born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.

Children on this Census: George 21 General Labourer, born Dunstable, Bedfordshire, William 18 Tinman and Gasfitter, born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, Ernest 15, Apprentice Carpenter, born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, Allpress 12 Scholar, born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, Florence 7 Scholar, born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.
1901 Cannot find John on this Census, the following shows that he had died by this Census, I have found his wife Emma as Mother in Law with daughter Minnie in Leyton, Essex, London. Minnie is married to a Frederick KINNS, a Railway Engine Stoker, born March Cambridgeshire. They are living at 7 Arundel Terrace, Millais Road, Leyton, Essex. They have a daughter Ivy who is 6 months and born in Leyton, Essex. Emma is down as a widow living on her own means.
  10. 1841 Broughton, Huntingdonshire . Living in the same property were George BINTINEL and Samuel PLUM both 15 born in Huntingdonshire and Apprentices, as well as William FULLYARD and Henry WALKER both 25 born Huntingdonshire and Tailor Js
1851 Broughton, Huntingdonshire. 1851 Brough Lane, Broughton, Huntingdonshire. Living with them was John BARNS (21) Journeyman Taylor born ? Huntingdonshire, a Lodger, John FISHER (46) widower Ag Lab born Broughton, Huntingdonshire and his son William FISHER (19) Ag Lab born Broughton, Huntingdonshire
1861 High Lane Drove, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. William and Charles are down as Nephews, so from the I would think they are with a brother of their father. William BEDFORD is the head, he is 43, a Farmer of 91 Acres, employing 3 men and 2 boys, born Warboys, Huntingdonshire. His wife is Eliza, aged 46 was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire. There are various other people with the family but no children of their own.
1871 High Drove Fen, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. There was a visitor a Mary MIDDLETON, aged 29, born Warboys, Huntingdonshire, she had two children with her, Annie MIDDLETON, aged 3 born Woodhurst, Huntingdonshire and Frederick MIDDLETON, aged 7 months born Woodhurst, Huntingdonshire. (she could be the sister of Elizabeth)
1881 High Drove Fen, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1891 High Drove Fen, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
    1901 High fen, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
Cannot confirm the marriage of William to Elizabeth on the BMD, as they had children between 1871 and 1881 I would think they married around 1870, there is a marriage of a William in the September quarter of 1870 in St Ives, but there are two men and one woman listed and she is not an Elizabeth. There are four William BEDFORD marriages in the St Ives district between 1871 and 1881, two do not have Elizabeth as a Christian name for the two women listed but the third does, but this is in the December quarter of 1865, if this is the marriage it was to a Elizabeth Ann Johnson AMOS. I think however that this is too early. I looked further on the September quarter of 1870 where there is two men and one women listed and search for the marriages in the September quarter of 1870 and there are only two Elizabeth's listed, Elizabeth CUSTANCE and Elizabeth HODSON, I then thought I would find one of these born in Warboys, in 1839 as shown on the Census information for Elizabeth BEDFORD when she was married. Unfortunately there is an Elizabeth CUSTANCE and an Elizabeth HODSON born in 1839 in Warboys, Huntingdonshire, so I am no further forward. I do think this is the marriage and now show this and the two alternative names. We already had Elizabeth CUSTANCE on CUSTANCE chart 0700 but without a marriage, and we do have a lot of HODSON names in Warboys, but not Elizabeth in 1839. Again I was hoping that I would find one of them married and therefore be able to solve the problem.
  11. 1841 Broughton, Huntingdonshire .
    1871 High Street, Benwick, Cambridgeshire
    1881 High Street, Benwick, Cambridgeshire.
    1891 High Street, Benwick, Cambridgeshire.
1901 Russell Road, Benwick, Huntingdonshire.  Also in the same road, but a couple of houses away is a William BEDFORD, aged 69, a retired coal merchant born Benwick, Cambridgeshire
  12. 1851 Broughton, Huntingdonshire. 1851 Brough Lane, Broughton, Huntingdonshire. Living with them was John BARNS (21) Journeyman Taylor born ? Huntingdonshire, a Lodger, John FISHER (46) widower Ag Lab born Broughton, Huntingdonshire and his son William FISHER (19) Ag Lab born Broughton, Huntingdonshire
I cannot find a Sally BEDFORD born Broughton, Huntingdonshire after the 1851 Census. I have found her as Sally on the BMD. There is a Sarah BEDFORD on the BMD in 1845 for St Ives. On the 1861 Census there is a Sarah BEDFORD born 1843 as a Servant. It is possible that this is our Sally and put down as Sarah OR the Sarah born in 1845 has her age down incorrectly.
  13. 1851 Broughton, Huntingdonshire. 1851 Brough Lane, Broughton, Huntingdonshire. Living with them was John BARNS (21) Journeyman Taylor born ? Huntingdonshire, a Lodger, John FISHER (46) widower Ag Lab born Broughton, Huntingdonshire and his son William FISHER (19) Ag Lab born Broughton, Huntingdonshire
1861 Wolby, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. Living as a servant with Charles ALLPRESS (47) Farmer of 20 Acres of Land born Warboys, Huntingdonshire and his wife Amelia (48) born Bluntisham, Huntingdonshire
1871 Cottage adjoining Broughton Lodge, Broughton, Huntingdonshire.
    1881 White Fen, Benwick, Cambridgeshire.
    1891 Broadpool, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1901 Blue Bell, Forty Feet Bridge, Ramsey, Huntingdonshire. There was a boarder, a John Cooper, aged 35 a Ag Lab, born Readingworth, Huntingdonshire.
  14. 1851 Broughton, Huntingdonshire.
1871 High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. Charles is down on this Census as son in law, but is in fact a child from Ann's first marriage.
    1881 High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire.
1891 Catherine Street, St Andrew the Less, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.
1901 3 Shoday Street, St Andrew the Less, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

NOTE - At the beginning of the line the name is UNNIOT and through the years it changes until today it is ONYETT. At present we are not certain as to when the name actually became ONYETT. As there are several variants in the spelling I have put the name ONYETT first on all the charts and then followed that with the spelling for that particular chart and indexed the whole line under ONYETT. ie ONYETT/UNYAT Chart 0700. The actual name as we have it appears for the actual people on the Chart.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
