  4. On 28th January a Jon wrote to me with the following Information
Your Paddon/Selkirk Chart 0400 omits William Thomas Paddon, the first born of Thomas and Ellen Paddon.
I cannot find an official record of the birth of William Thomas Paddon so I cannot obtain the year of birth for free. Thomas Paddon, the father, was a seafaring man prior to taking up land at East Wardell in 1877. The first son may not even have been born in Australia.
There are many newspaper reports that say that William Thomas Paddon was the brother of James Paddon, the world champion rower. James was the fifth son of Thomas and Ellen Paddon so this makes William Thomas Paddon a son too. There is a newspaper report that Dick Paddon was the brother of William Thomas Paddon. Richard Paddon was a son of Thomas Paddon born in 1878. Thomas and Ellen were married in 1876 and Richard was born in 1878 so William Thomas Paddon was most likely born in the interim.
William Thomas Paddon married Anna May Bale c1893 and the event was registered in Ballina (BDM NSW 1945/1893). Ballina is the next town north of Evans Head, where the Paddon family lived. The online BDM record spells the wife's name as Annie.
William Thomas Paddon died in 1953 and the event was registered in North Sydney (BDM NSW 8888/1953).
The death certificate would most likely give the date of birth. I am looking into the family in relation to the involvement of family members in the fishing industry in Iluka so I am not particularly interested in the exact date of birth.
From that I believe I have found the following children
Australian NSW BMD Web site shows the following children for William T and ANN M all in Casino district
1894 Violet P - Violet appears to have married in 1916 a William G BROWN in MacLean district
    1895 Eric A W (no marriage found)
1897 Phillip EE - Phillip apears to have married in 1922 a Annie ARTHUR in Urana district
1898 William T V (more than one choice of marriage)
    1899 Catherine E M (no marriage found)
1901 Annie M (but mother shown as Emma L)
1904 Gladys I - Gladys possibly married in 1928 an Ernest P NICHOLSON
1906 Albert E possibly married in 1933 a Elsie M GILBERT in Newtown district
  5.
  6.
  7. From the Australian BMD records I believe there was the following child
Jack R born 1910 in Casino district
There might be more children as records only let you see until December 1914
  8. From the Australian BMD records I believe there were the following children
Lilian J born 1910 Ballina district
Muriel H born 1912 Ballina district
Evans J born 1913 Ballina district
There might be more children as records only let you see until December 1914
  9.
  10. From the Australian BMD records I believe there were the following children
Edna P 1910 born Casino district
Lorna M 1914 born Casino distict
There might be more children as records only let you see until December 1914
  11. On 28th January a Jon wrote to me with the following Information
Then I looked on the CGWC Web Site and and found
1916 30, Napier St., Paddington, New South Wales. Native of Evans River, New South Wales. (Details on CWGC Web Site for George Edward which shows we have the correct person)
Also the details on the CGWC Web Site of his position in Army, memorial etc as shown above.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
