  1. 1841 James Street, Marylebone, Middlesex. It appears that there are quite a number of individuals living at this address, the relationship between them all is of course not indicated. Thomas ADDISON (60) Shoe M not born Middlesex, Elizabeth ADDISON (25) born Middlesex, Martha GEARY (70) Independent, Delia BRYNE (40) Independent both not born Middlesex, John WALLER (80) Painter, Ann SANDFORD (60) Independent, Edmund SANDFORD (15) Porter and Sarah SANDFORD (20) all born Middlesex. There could even be another 11 people living in the same property, again no clear relationships.

Notes on trying to determine the relationship between the Edmund SANDFORDs,
This has been written because the information entered for this family is speculative and needs to be researched further to find proof for the conclusions drawn.
    FACT -
Edmund SANDFORD (b 1773) married Ann Elizabeth WALTER (b1781) in Marylebone, Middlesex
They had Sophia (b1808) and Harriett (b 1809) both baptised in Marylebone
    FACT -
Ann SANDFORD (b1781) was living in Marylebone, Middlesex in 1841 together with Edmund STANFORD (b1826) and Sarah STANFORD (b1821), both born in Middlesex.
    QUERY -
Was this 1841 Ann SANDFORD (b1781) the same person as Ann Elizabeth WALTER (b1781) wife of Edmund SANDFORD (b1773)?
    FACT -
Edmund Robert SANDFORD (bc1822 Middlesex) married Sarah HUMPHREY or HUMPHERY in 1845 in Kensington and in 1861 they were living in Marylebone, Middlesex. The father of Edmund Robert was another Edmund SANDFORD
    QUERY -
Was Edmund Robert SANDFORD (bc 1822) the same Robert who was living with Ann (bc 1781) in Marylebone in 1841. together with Sarah (bc1821)?
    FACTS -
Edmund SANDFORD (b1773) and Ann Elizabeth WALTER (b1781) had a daughter Harriet Welbey SANDFORD (b1809) who married James POWELL. They had a daughter Harriet who married Peter OTTLEY.....
Edmund Robert SANDFORD and Sarah HUMPHREY had a daughter Caroline SANDFORD (b1850 Marylebone). In 1871 she was living with the family of Harriett OTTLEY, the daugter of Harriett POWELL née SANDFORD (b1809) as "cousin". (Caroline later married Harriett's brother-in-law, Matthew POWELL).
    QUERY -
How are the two families, that of Edmund SANDFORD (b1773) and Ann Elizabeth WALTER(b1781) and that of Edmund Robert SANDFORD (bc1822) and Sarah HUMPHREY connected?
    POSSIBLE CONCLUSIONS
    1. The Ann SANDFORD (bc1781) on the 1841 census is Ann Elizabeth SANDFORD née WALTER wife of
    Edmund SANDFORD (b1773)
    2. Edmund Robert SANDFORD (bc1822-1826) and Sarah SANDFORD (bc 1821) who are with an Ann
SANDFORD (bc 1781) on the 1841 are the children of Edmund SANDFORD (b1773) and Ann Elizabeth
    SANDFORD née WALTER (b1781)
This would make the relationship between Harriet OTTLEY and Caroline SANDFORD that of first
cousins as their mother and father would have been brother and sister.
3, However, Ann Elizabeth SANDFORD née WALTER had children in 1808 and 1809 so it seems rather a
long gap from 1809 until 1821 and 1826 before Sarah and Edmund Robert were born. So, perhaps
there was another Edmund (bc1801) making another generation in between that of Edmund (b1773)
    and Edmund Robert (b1822/1826).
As we have no information about an Edmund born about 1801, at present it has been decided to conclude that Edmund Robert SANDFORD born about 1822/1826 was the son of Edmund SANDFORD (b1722) and Ann Elizabeth WALTER (b1781). More research required

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
