  1. Having looked at most of the Censuses, there are very few other SORRELL's born in Boreham, Essex. James keeps cropping up, so although I have at present no definite way to connect him to the family I feel he must be a son of James and Ann, I have therefore added him to the family. I will then add the what I have found out about him on the other Censuses.
  2. 1841 Census - Great Waltham, Boreham, Essex
  3. 1851 Census - Village, Broomfield, Essex
  4. 1861 Census - Widmore Lane, Palace, Bromley, Kent. He appears to be in the Lodge. The first person listed is a Sarah SORRELL, Lodgekeeper, aged 40 born Wroughton Wiltshire, she is down as married but no husband with her. I would think her husband is possibly another child of this family.  Having looked at the 1871 Census I have now decided that James was in fact the husband of Sarah, although it does not show it. See next note
  5. 1871 Census - No 80 entrance lodge to Palace, Widman Road, Bromley, Kent. On this Census Sarah born Wroughton, Wiltshire is the wife of James.
  6. 1881 Census - 14 East Street, Bromley, Kent. - Sarah was a widow. There was a visitor with them an Ellen A MUGGLIGTON?, aged 23 born Kensington, Middlesex.
  7. Although we know that James died before 1881 I cannot find any of the rest of the family on the 1891 or 1901 Census at the present time.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
