Marriage Notes for Thomas WHITTLESEA/WHITTLESEY and Mary NAYLOR:
On FreeBMD the marriage shown here is included for Mary NAYLOR, but no Thomas WHITTLESEY is listed. However, although there are nine people listed one bride is appeared with a different spelling for a surname and one bride is entered showing a Newmarket District whereas all the rest are in the North Witchford District, This led me to count the bridegrooms and there were only 3 for the 4 brides. On the off chance I looked on findmypast for a WHITTLESEY in the December quarter 1843 and there was an entry for Volume 14 page 321 which corresponds with the Mary NAYLOR on FreeBMD!
  2. 1851 Johnsons Square, March, Cambridgeshire
1861 Whittle End, March, Cambridgeshire. Thomas the son was registered as Frederick Thomas and appears  as Frederick on the 1861 Census.

1901 West End, March Cambridgeshire as as T F WHITTLESEY
1911 Litre? Villa, West End, March, Cambridgeshire as WHITTLESEY
Registered as Frederick Thomas with the same reference as Rebecca, daughter of William WHITTLESEY and Eliza DOCKERILL. The reference numbers would suggest that Fredrick and Rebecca were twins. William's first wife had died leaving him with two small boys. He then married Eliza and it would appear that very quickly they had twins. Perhaps looking after four small children proved too much for Eliza so William's younger brother and his wife, married just a few months, decided to help and bring up one of the twins.

Note for convenience I have called all the WHITTLESEY charts WHITTLESEY. This is not what they are all named, it shows as WHITTLESAY, WHITTLESEA etc.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
