    1871 Census - Malt House Lane, Stoke next Guildford, Surrey.  Emma is down as being born in Pullenham.
    1881 Census - Malt House Lane, Stoke next Guildford, Surrey. Emma is down as being born in Bramley on this census. There are seven children on this census, three of which were born between 1871 and 1881.
    1891 Census - Stoughton Road, Stoke, Surrey.
    1901 Census - 4 Stemp's Cottages, Stoughton Road, Stoke, Surrey

    It appears that Stephen married again, he appears to have married a Susannah BROWN, but I think she was a widow, but I think there is a connection to the BROWN family somewhere at the witnesses were Thomas and Elizabeth BROWN details of second marriage on http://freespace.virgin.net/anglers.rest/puttmarr.htm

James was a boarder with his brother George and sister Eliza (their parents had died in 1869 and 1870) They were with a George ELLIS, aged 36 a Farm Labourer born Puttenham, Surrey, his wife and daughter. There were two other boarders other than the BROWN children
    1881 Census - "The Good Intent", Puttenham, Surrey. James was a lodger. A James S HARDING was the licensed victualler, aged 37 born Puttenham, Surrey. He had a wife and daughter.
