  1. 1818 Sun Court, St Botolph without Aldgate, City of London (baptism of Richard Henry) Parents Richard and Henrietta. Richard the father was a Carpenter. There was another baptism for this couple a Mary Ann Gurdlestone CAPE baptised 3rd March 1822 at St Leonard, Hackney, London. They were at Rose Court, St Leonard, Shoreditch and Richard was still a Carpenter. A birth date of 4th February 1822 is given for Mary. In 1841 Richard down as being aged 45 a Carpenter and Henrietta aged 43 a Book Folder, neither born in Middlesex were still at Rose Court, Shoreditch. Neither of the children that we know about were with them. Their son got married very soon afterwards. With them was a James SMITH aged 5 born in Middlesex. I think Richard and Henrietta married on 18th January 1818 at St Leonard, Shoreditch, Middlesex. Henrietta was a Widow. witnesses were George SIMMINGS? and William FRANCE? (both surnames difficult to read)
    There is a death for Henrietta Capes in 1869 Shoreditch aged 81.

    1861 2 The Change, Hoxton New Town, Shoreditch St Leonard, Middlesex. Richard and son Arthur are Lodgers on this Census. I think Richard is still down as married. They are with a Henry MARGERTON? married aged 42 a Coffee House Keeper born Westminster and his wife. There are lots of servant and Lodgers with them. I cannot read Arthur's occupation.
