  1. 1841 Census - Prospect Cottages, Southwood, St Lawrence, Kent (occupation next to Hannah but think it must relate to Thomas)
1851 Census - St Lawrence Street, Thanet St Lawrence, Kent
1861 Census - St Lawrence Street, St Lawrence, Kent.
1871 Census - High Street, St Lawrence, Kent - see Note 4 - On this Census there is a Thomas PHILPOTT, no relationship given age 10 Scholar born St Lawrence, Kent
1881 Census - High Street, St Lawrence, Kent. This entry really needs to be looked at to be believed.  Under the indexing for Ancestry.com it is just down as JULL no Christian names and indeed this is as it appears, but the Head is down as T JULL, Head age 73 General Labourer born St Lawrence, his wife just "do" age 72 Laundress, born Ramsgate, Kent, then PHILPOTT, daughter, widow age 41 Laundress, born Ramsgate, Kent and finally, JULL daughter unmarried, age 44 Laundress, born Ramsgate, Kent. As this all ties in with Thomas, Hannah, Hannah and Eliza above I am sure this is the correct family.
  2. 1841 Census - Prospect Cottages, Southwood, St Lawrence, Kent
Parents -  John Brice and Ann Griggs
  3. 1841 Census - Prospect Cottages, Southwood, St Lawrence, Kent
1861 Census - 18 Anne Street, Hull, Yorkshire (Down as Hill on this Census)
1871 Census - "John Bunyan" - Hull, Yorkshire - Could not find Thomas JULL on the 1861 Census, but he appears on the 1871 Census as follows. Thomas JULL, aged 35, married, born St Lawrence, Kent, Captain of  the "John Bunyan", there were four other crew, Samuel NEWBURY, Mate married age 23 from Lyme, Dorset, George NEWMARCH, fisherman, age 18 from Hull, Yorkshire, Charles WARWICK, fisherman, age 16 also from Hull, Yorkshire and John ? RICHARDSON, boy age 16 from Prestonbury, Kent, The registration district was HULL, Yorkshire. (RG10/4797 Folio 96 Vessel John Bunyan.
1871 Census - 63 Myton Street Street, Hull, Yorkshire - Thomas is down with his family, but he is also down on the "John Bunyan, above."  There was also a Martha who surname is ditto'd with the JULL's so could be Martha JULL, she was a servant, aged 19, also born Hull, Yorkshire.
1881 Census - 63 Myton Street, Hull, Yorkshire. Index down as JUBB and Thomas has been crossed out as I would assume again that he was not at home but on his fishing boat
1891 Census - 63 Myton Street, Hull, Yorkshire
1901 Census - 11 Walcott Street, (entrance at end of St Barnabus Terrace, Myton, Holy Trinity, Hull, Yorkshire. Tull on the Index on Ancestry.com but right family
  4. 1841 Census - Prospect Cottages, Southwood, St Lawrence, Kent
1851 Census - St Lawrence Street, Thanet St Lawrence, Kent
1861 Census - St Lawrence Street, St Lawrence, Kent.
1871 Census - High Street, St Lawrence, Kent - see Note 4 - On this Census there is a Thomas PHILPOTT, no relationship given age 10 Scholar born St Lawrence, Kent
1881 Census - This entry really needs to be looked at to be believed. It is for High Street, St Lawrence, Kent.
1891 Census - Eliza JULL is Head of household at 1 High Street, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. Her sister again down as Dinah PHILPOTT is with her as sister, both still Laundress. Thomas PHILPOTT, age 28 Engine Cleaner is with them. I assume therefore the their parents died between 1881 and 1891.
1901 Census - Still at 1 High Street, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. As per 1891 Census except Thomas is now down as a Cokeman.
1911, 4 High Street, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. Her sister Dinah and her son Thomas were with her.
  5. 1841 Census - Prospect Cottages, Southwood, St Lawrence, Kent
1851 Census - St Lawrence Street, Thanet St Lawrence, Kent
1861 Census - Having looked on this Census for various spellings of PHILLPOTT, I think my spelling is correct. I also think the first name is Hannah not Dinah as it appears on the 1871 Census, as that is the name of her mother and Dinah in 1861 is a very unusual name. There is a Hannah PHILLPOTT age 20 born St Lawrence, married to an Edward PHILLPOTT on the 1861 Census and I think this is correct. There son Thomas must have been born after the Census. The address is Southwood, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. They are in the same house as a William PHILLPOTT Age 64 an Ag Lab and his wife Susannah age 58 both born in St Lawrence, who I assume are his parents. There is another family of PHILLPOTT's next door but one.
1871 Census - John JULL was at Aldershot, Hampshire as a Soldier in the Regiment of 94th Foot and 45th Depot Foot Centre Block Infantry Barracks. unmarried, aged 21, a Private, born St Lawrence, Kent
1881 Census - This entry really needs to be looked at to be believed. It is for High Street, St Lawrence, Kent.
  6. 1851 Census - St Lawrence Street, Thanet St Lawrence, Kent
  7. 1851 Census - St Lawrence Street, Thanet St Lawrence, Kent
1861 Census - Ellington, St Lawrence, Kent
  8. 1861 Census - St Lawrence Street, St Lawrence, Kent.
1871 Census - John JULL was at Aldershot, Hampshire as a Soldier in the Regiment of 94th Foot and 45th Depot Foot Centre Block Infantry Barracks. unmarried, aged 21, a Private, born St Lawrence, Kent
1881 Census - A job finding any of this family on the 1881 Census. - I think John JULL is a lodger at 62 Lavender Hill, Tonbridge, Kent, right age and born Ramsgate, Kent. also a lodger with him is a Frederick PHILLPOTT which seeing notes 4 and 7 above might mean there is some relationship between them. Frederick was born in 1861 and was also born in Ramsgate, Kent
1891 8 Pembury Grove, Tonbridge, Kent. John was single a Boarder with a James KINGSLAND and his wife. The fact he was in Tonbridge, tends to confirm the marriage I have found the following year.
1901 Census - John Brice JULL is down as living at 60 Barden Road, Tonbridge, Kent, he is a widower which is interesting. Age 52 a Railway Engine Stoker, born St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent, his niece Elizabeth PEBBLE is living with him, aged 24. Born Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
  9. 1861 Census - St Lawrence Street, St Lawrence, Kent.
1871 Census - Elizabeth JULL was a Servant aged 21 at High View, St Lawrence, Kent, a Laundrymaid, to a Henry JOHNSTONE, he was 63 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. There was one visitor and the rest of the household were servants.
  10. 1861 Census - St Lawrence Street, St Lawrence, Kent. This has added a lot of new information to this Chart, but Thomas who we had, baptised in 1836 is not on this Census, but he would be 25 years old, so more than likely married, all the other children are new additions, plus the information about Hannah where we only had her name and the occupation of Thomas.
1871 Census - High Street, St Lawrence, Kent - see Note 4 - On this Census there is a Thomas PHILPOTT, no relationship given age 10 Scholar born St Lawrence, Kent
1881 Census - I think I have found Henry Jull (Gull on Ancestry.com index but looks more like Jull on actual Census. He was a Lodger aged 21, born Ramsgate, Kent and living a 16 New Town, Ashford, Kent, his occupation was Railway Engine Fireman, Shunter
1891 Census - Now down correctly as Henry JULL, Lodger, aged 43? at 109 New Town, Ashford, Kent, now an Engine Driver, EW,

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
