  1. Father - Samuel NEVES - Labourer
  2. Father - Thomas WELLARD
  3. 1891 Census - 42 St John's Road, Margate, Kent
  4. 1881 Census -39 Victoria Rd., Margate St John Baptist, Kent
  5. 1901 Census - 4 Ventnor Lane, Margate, Kent - Also with the family was Florence Rose OVENDEN, granddaughter, aged 2 born Margate, Kent. I can only assume is is the daughter of Mary Ann OVENDEN, who married Walter LAWES in 1905 as her older sister Elizabeth had died in 1889 and the rest of the family are HEADLAM's.
  6. 1871 Census - Joseph HEADLAM was on the Vessel Names "The Isle of Thanet" on this Census. He was the Mate, aged 30, born Whitby, Yorkshire. The boat was at "Off Horsely Down River Thames".
  7. I looked for the death of Richard OVENDEN on the BMD and found there is only one that died in September quarter of 1880 in Thanet district, the age of this person was 22. I then look at the 1871 Census and found a Richard OVENDEN who therefore matches. His father was a Richard OVENDEN and he was a Mariner, so I would think this is the correct Richard. His father was 34 and born in Margate, Kent, his mother was Mary Ann, age 32 a Dressmaker, born Birchington, Kent, then there was out Richard, then six more children all born in Margate, Kent, Mary Ann 11, William H 9, Sophia J, 7, Alfred 5, Jane Elizabeth 4 and Jessie M 8 months.
  8. 1871 Census - Note 6 confirmed by this Note, Harriet and her son William were living at 1 Ventnor Lane, Margate, Kent on this census, her husband was not at home. She is down as Sailor's wife) whose husband was away at sea.
  9. 1901 Census - James was living at High Street, Stokesley, Yorkshire. He was 26 a Bricklayer, born Margate, Kent his wife Lydia was 23 and born in Stokesley, Yorkshire, they had a son Reuben who was 1 and also born in Stokelsey, Yorkshire, will as a new chart for this family.
  10. Cannot find on 1901 Census.
  11. 1861 Census - Harriet Petitt was a Servant at 18 West Cliff Terrace, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. She was 19, a Housemaid, born Margate, Kent.
  12. 1861 Census - Joseph Headlam was a Boarder at 5 Lydell Street, Southshield, Tynemouth, Northumberland. He was down as 18, a Seaman, born Whitby, Yorkshire
  13. 1861 Census - 2 Dixons Court, Margate, Kent
  14. 1871 Census - 7 Dixons Court, St Johns, Margate, Kent.

I have done a lot of work on this Chart today, 9th September 2005. I only had a very basic chart for this family which included Jane Elizabeth HEWETT and her two husband and two children. I think I have now found all the children involved and the name of the wives and husbands, but I am sure there is still more work which could be done to complete this chart. I have looked at the 1871-1901 Censuses and the BMD todate.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
