  1. 1871 25 Clinger Street, Shoreditch, London
1881 24 St Agatha Square, Shoreditch, London
1891 Preston Cavalry Barracks, Brighton, Sussex
1901 77 Buckland Street, Hoxton Old Town, Shoreditch, London. (With his parents Alexander and Sarah THOMPSON.
Have not found a first marriage for George Ernest, he was single in 1901 and a widower on his marriage to Jane COOKSLEY, she was down as a widow. However on the 1911 Census there is a George THOMPSON born 1868 Hoxton ,Shoreditch, Middlesex, a Packer with a wife Georgina, they have been married 8 years, so 1903 approximately, she is down as being 45 and they have a son George aged 10 born 1901 he is at school. Georgina is aged 45 and born in Brighton, so possible this is the correct couple. If correct he married Georgina HASTINGS in March quarter 1902 in Brighton district, Sussex.
1911 8 Little Essex Street, Shoreditch, London.
1916 23 Great Eastern Buildings, Great Eastern Street, EC
Information has been confirmed by a Neil C THOMPSON in Australia about marriage to Georgina HASTINGS.
  2. 1911 8 Little Essex Street, Shoreditch, London. (I can find no other information for Georgina)
  3. 1871 12 Coventry Street, Bethnal Green, London
1881 29 Charlotte Buildings, Bethnal Green, London
1887 9 Turville, Street, Bethnal Green, London (at marriage) Father James DODD (deceased) - Lavender? (occupation - that is what it looks like)
1888 3 Henrietta Street, Bethnal Green, London (baptism of Jane Henrietta)
1890 16 Long Street, Shoreditch, London (baptism of Joseph William)
1891 16 Long Street, Shoreditch, London.
1892 6 Newling Street, Shoreditch, London (baptism of Adelaide)
1894 1A Chamberd Street, Bethnal Green, London (baptism of George Henry)
1896 12 York ???, Pearson Street, Shoreditch, London (baptism of Jane)
1901 19 Askey Street Hoxton, Old Town, Shoreditch, London. At the same address so assume Mother of Jane was Elizabeth DODD down as Head, a Charwoman aged 55 born Bethnal Green, London. Then I assume two of her children Louisa daughter aged 20 a Cigar Maker, and James aged 26 a General Labourer both born Bethnal Green, London. Also at the same address was an Eliza LESLIE down as Head Married aged 31 a Cigar Maker, and her daughter Eliza LESLIE aged 3 born Bethnal Green, London
1905 14 Queens Building, Gossett street, Bethnal Green, London (baptism of Edith Grace)
1911 14 Queens Buildings Chambord street, Bethnal Green, London. Jane is down as having been married 23 years and having had nine children, six of whom survive at the date of this Census and three of whom have died. (I now have all nine children, so three had died by 1911, I am sure that William was one of them as he appears on the 1901 Census but not on the 1911, so two others had died as well, as we have all the other children on the 1911 Census from Adelaide to Laura (without William) it must have been the first two children who died before 1911. However Jane Henrietta married in 1909 so will have to see if I can find her either on the 1911 Census or a death between 1909 and 1911 with her married name. Have now found Jane Henrietta on 1911 so she was still alive, but have now found baptism for some of the children and there is an additional child a Edith Grace COOKSLEY baptised 17th September 1905, so I can only assume that Jane miscounted the number of children she had had and had in fact had 10 children not 9 as stated on the 1911 Census, so now assume that Joseph William, William and Edith Grace were the three children who had died. It also appears that Joseph was alive on the 1911 Census.  He was an Able Seamn R.N 614 on the Vessel "Glory" in the Medway at Gillingham, so now do not know why Jane says that she had the children she said she had and why she has three down as having died.
1916 23 Great Eastern Buildings, Great Eastern Street, EC (Father of Jane COOKSLEY - James DODD (Carman (deceased))
  4. 1871 22 Turville Street, Bethnal Green, London
1881 33 Charlotte Buildings Bethnal Green, London.
1883 Charlotte Buildings Bethnal Green, London. (baptism of Joseph)
1887 24 Charlotte Buildings, Turville, Street, Bethnal Green, London (at marriage) Father Luke COOKSLEY - Chair Maker
1888 3 Henrietta Street, Bethnal Green, London (baptism of Jane Henrietta)
1890 16 Long Street, Shoreditch, London (baptism of Joseph William)
1891 16 Long Street, Shoreditch, London.

Also at the same address was an Eliza LESLIE down as Head Married aged 31 a Cigar Maker, and her daughter Eliza LESLIE aged 3 born Bethnal Green, London1911 14 Queens Buildings Chambord street, Bethnal Green, London
1905 14 Queens Building, Gossett street, Bethnal Green, London (baptism of Edith Grace)
  5. 1911 25 Norfolk Street Forest Gate, West Ham, Essex. Lilian Ada THOMPSON  down correctly as Niece aged 11 At School, born Dundalk, Ireland was with her Aunt Sarah Louisa CRANE née THOMPSON and her husband Thomas and family.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
