    March 2018 Family News
We were very sorry to hear of the death of Joyce Tunaley on Sunday 18th March. Our thoughts and prayers are with her daughter, Ann, and her family.
(The Messenger Trinity United Reformed Church, Upminster, Essex)
    Note
Joyce married as SHINGLETON or BLITZ but we have not found any marriage of a Joyce SHINGLETON to a person with the surname BLITZ, however my sister tried to find the reason for the "or BLITZ" on the BMD Register and below is what she found.
A Victor F BLITZ married an Alice M SHINGLETON in December quarter 1915 in West Ham, Essex
In 1939 that Alice M BLITZ was living at 1 Dawes Avenue, Hornchurch U.D. Essex born 11th may 1887 Unpaid Domestic (married) (no husband present) but children John Fred BLITZ born 16th December Local Government Office and Lily A BLITZ born 3-th December 1017 a Short Hand Typist, there was one record officially closed after Lily.
Then on the 1901 Census I have on this Chart for John SHINGLETON the following
1901 83 Neville Road, Forest Gate, West Ham, Essex. Father John SHINGLETON aged 40 an Ironmoulder born St George E London, Mother Emma aged 39 born Poplar, London, Children Susan aged 16 Improver in Dressmaking born West Ham, Essex, Alice aged 14 Apprentice to Bookfolder born West Ham, Essex Mary aged 11 born West Ham, Essex and then John.
So Alice was a sister of Joyce and my sister therefore has come to the following conclusion:
"Joyce’s mother had died in May 1939, father John SHINGLTON had remarried in December 1939 and died in October 1940.....daughter Joyce had been born 1931 so she was only 9 when her father died. I don’t think John’s new wife took her in as they had only just had a child so I think Joyce was taken in by her father’s sister Alice BLITZ.....and that is why there are two names for Joyce when she married".

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
