  1. 1881 Census - I found this family living at 26 Church Street, Margate, Kent. It was the only Jane S of the right age born in Margate. Checking on the BMD site there was a marriage between ad Edward William WILLIAMS and a Jane Smith ADAMS, so this must be the correct couple. I would not think there would be another Jane Smith ADAMS. I will try and also find them on the 1871 Census. Details for the 1881 Census are as follows: Edward William WILLIAMS age 34 an Engine driver Gas Works, born Great Mongeham, Kent, Jane S WILLIAMS wife, age 33 born Margate, Kent, Edward W WILLIAMS, son, age 11, scholar, born Margate, Kent, George E WILLIAMS, son, age 9 born Margate, Kent, Sarah K WILLIAMS, age 7, born Margate, Kent, Helen WILLIAMS, age 2 born Margate, Kent, Ernest H WILLIAMS, son, age 2 months, born Margate, Kent.
  2. 1891 Census - 22 Church Street, Margate, Kent. The family of Edward WILLIAMS, aged 44 a General Labourer born Great Mongeham, Kent and his wife Jane S WILLIAMS, age 42 born Margate, Kent was as follows:  Edward WILLIAMS, son age 21 Laundryman, born Margate, Kent, Sarah C WILLIAMS, daughter, age 17, General Servant (Domestic) born Margate, Kent, Ellen WILLIAMS, daughter, age 13 born Margate, Kent, Ernest A WILLIAMS, age 10 Scholar, born Margate, Kent, Elizabeth J WILLIAMS, daughter, age 8 born Margate, Kent and Victor G WILLIAMS son age 4 born Margate, Kent.
  3. 1901 Census - 24 Church Street, Margate, Kent. The family was Edward WILLIAMS Head age 55 Gas Works Labourer, born Great Mongeham, Kent, Jane WILLIAMS Wife age 54 born Margate, Kent, Ellen WILLIAMS daughter age 22 Laundress Wash, own account Home born Margate, Kent, Elizabeth WILLIAMS, daughter age 18 Laundress Wash, Own Account, at Home born Margate, Kent, Victor G WILLIAMS, son age 14 born Margate, Kent.
  4. 1871 Census - 2 Byron Road, Margate, Kent
  5. 1901 Census - I have found Edward William WILLIAMS, married at 7 Victoria Cottages, Margate, Kent. I will make another Chart for this, but it interesting to note that he married a Emily Annie FEDARB (I think it is FEDARB as BMD gives both spellings above, but Edwards uncle on ADAMS Chart 0500  married a Mara Mary FEDARB in 1886, unfortunately she died in 1890, which was the year that Edward married Emily. I would think there is some relationship between the two. I have looked on the various Censuses and found both Emily and Maria, but they do not come from the same direct family, I still think they are the same family but possibly the connection is in the previous generation. Emily definitely came from Canterbury, where the most occurrences of the name are, Maria was a Servant on the 1881 Census and puts her birth place down as Canterbury, but on the 1871 Census she can be found as daughter, but is down as being born in Faversham, Kent.
  6. 1861 Wheatley Place, Ramsgate, Kent.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
