  1. 1841 High Street North, Somersham, Huntingdonshire (Grandmother living with the family)
1851 Clenchwarton, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. There is a Robert WHEATON, age 33, lodging with Joseph FILLY and his wife. He gives his place of birth as March, Cambridgeshire which does not agree with the place of birth on this record. However, this is the only reference to a Robert in the two counties of Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire, and people have been known to give incorrect details on Census Returns. More research will be done to clarify this matter.
1855 Somersham, Huntingdonshire (birth of son Phillip)
1857 Somersham, Huntingdonshire (birth of son John)
1860 Drury Lane, Middlesex (birth of son William)
1861 1 Crawford Place, Camberwell, Middlesex. In same property were 4 other families, making a total of 15 people.

1863 5 Guildford Place, Clerkenwell, Middlesex (birth of son Thomas)
1864 12 Easton Street, Clerkenwell, Middlesex (baptism of William and Thomas)

1882 29 Dale Street, Newington, Surrey (Marriage)
1891 46 Penton Place, St Mary Newington, Newington, Southwark, London.
On Family Search there is a baptism for a Margaret Scott PARKER 17 February 1833 St Botolph, Bishopsgate, London, London, which seems to fit. However, the parents were Thomas PARKER and Sarah, whereas in the Marriage Register for the Philip WHEATON/Margaret Scott PARKER marriage Margaret's father was shown as Charles.
Father - Charles PARKER - Labourer
  3.
  4. 1871 123 Trafalgar Street, Newington St Mary, Surrey

  6. 1855 Somersham, Huntingdonshire
1861 Philip was NOT living with his father, mother and brothers John and William in Clerkenwell, Middlesex. Instead he was living at: Parberry's Row, Enfield, Middlesex (RG9/799 folio15 Page 3). Living with John CASTLE (50) Butcher and his wife Elizabeth CASTLE (50) both born Enfield Middlesex. Phillips is shown as their nephew, age 6 born "Summersham", Huntingdon. A Surname had been entered for him, but has been heavily scratched out and is therefore unreadable. On the Ancestry.com web site he is included in the index as Phillip CASTLE, but all other details, including the Aunt, Elizabeth CASTLE (See 1871 census) indicate that this is actually Phillip WHEATON.
1871 Windmill Hill, Enfield, Middlesex (RG10/1344 folio 6 page 3). Living with Elizabeth CASTLE Head Widow Age 60 Annuitant born Enfield, Middlesex

"One of the family stories about Philip is that he was convicted of manslaughter following a brawl and did a stretch on the treadmill. Again, I don't know how likely this is". More research required yet again!

The following information has been found. Together with William on board the ship was a Thomas WHEATON whose details match those of William's brother. No. 280 in the Schedule are George HARRIS (40) Labourer and Sarah his wife (34). They are followed by No. 281 in the Schedule William ATTRUDEN(?) (17) Labourer; Robert ALDER (16) Labourer; William WHEATON (14) Labourer; Thomas WHEATON (10) Child; John HARMAN (14) Labourer; Alfred MALLISON (9) Child; Thomas MALLISON (8) Child and Lewis DEAKIN (12) Child. The individuals listed under No. 282, 283, 284, 285 to the bottom of the page which follow are not families, they are either Labourers or "Child" all under 16 totalling another 31 individuals. Families are listed again over the page. Was this one of the schemes taking "orphan" children to Canada as at this time the mother of William and Thomas was working as a Nurse in Guys Hospital and later lived with, then married, George WEST. The "Ontario" certainly carried "Home Children" to Canada.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
