BELLAMY
  1. 1881 21 Albion Rd, Kettering, Northamptonshire
  2. 1891 13 Princes Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire
  3. 1901 13 Princes Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire
  4. I think this is the correct marriage, but it is down as Martha Mary, whereas all the censuses show a Mary M, also Mary/Martha having been born in Birmingham, possibly the marriage might have been in that area, but is I can find a Martha/Mary BELLAMY living in Kettering, but born in Birmingham on the 1871 Census it will make the likelihood of this being the correct marriage stronger.
  5. A Tanya HARRINGTON emailed me on 23rd October 2007with the following, I am slowly putting this information on the Web:  John & Sarah Elmore, you have their daughter Elizabeth (born 1852) as marrying either George William Bellamy or Alfred Tailby. She married George William Bellamy (my gt grandfather) and they had 2 children, Frank William (1874) and Laura (1875). Elizabeth died March 1884 in Berrywood Asylum, Northampton, from a wasting disease, and was buried in Kettering in unconsecrated ground on 6th March 1884.
The son Frank remained with his father, but Laura went to live with her uncle William Elmore and his wife Eleanor in Darlaston. George Bellamy marriedA his 2nd wife (my gt grandmother) Mary Taylor in Oct 1884 and had 8 more children.
Mary Martha Bellamy who married William Elmore, was a sister of the above George William Bellamy. Their father George was a tailor who made uniforms for railway staff, hence their 10 children were born in different towns with railway depots!
  6. 1881 Census - 3 Farmers Lane, Kettering, Northamptonshire. George (eldest son) was with his father and family on this Census, his wife Elizabeth was not with him, but his son Frank (Grandson to George the Head on this Chart) was.
  7. 1871 Census - Farmers (Tanners)?  Lane, Kettering, Northamptonshire.
  8. 1861 Census - Farmers (Tanners)? Lane, Kettering, Northamptonshire.
  9. 1851 Census - High Street, Watford, Hertfordshire. George was a visitor at this address. He was not with any of his family, but is down as married. He was with a Lucy GERMAN and her daughter Lucy. There was another visitor.
  10. 1851 Census - Fanny appears to be with her parents on this Census, but there is no George with her, but a Henry W as a son, I think this is in fact George as the age ties up. This gives me the her maiden name, she is down as married and born in Apsley Guise, Bedfordshire, but as can be seen the family are in Woburn, so I am sure it is the correct person.  Her parents are William and Mary DAWBORN both born in Woburn, Bedfordshire. There are seven other siblings of William and Mary on this Census.
  11. In note 5 above Tanya says there were 10 children but at present I have only found seven, so I have put in the last three as just child BELLAMY.
  12. 1891 Census - 97 Wellington Street, Kettering, Northants. Charles and Maria had two children on this Census - Florence May aged 5 born Kettering, Northants, occupation Scholar crossed through and Arthur Charles aged 3 months, also born Kettering, Northants, there were two Boarders with the family. Chart to do for this family.
  13. 1901 Census - 97 Wellington Street, Kettering, Northants. An additional child, Elsie, aged 7 born Kettering, Northants on this Census. Florence the oldest daughter was a Boot ???. There was a Boarder with the family. I notice they were living next door to a DRIVER family and Annie's maiden name was DRIVER.
  14. 1891 Census - 3 Tanners Lane, Kettering, Northamptonshire. John is down as being married on this Census, but there is no wife with him, he comes under his younger sister Rachel and then there is a Ernest Birtchnell BELLAMY, grandson, aged 9 a Scholar, born Kettering, Northants, so I suspect that Ernest was a son of John's (Have found the marriage of John to a Mary Jane BIRTCHNELL, in 1879) He is with his wife and children and a lodger with the surname BIRTCHNELL on the 1901 Census  in Bath. (See note 15)
  15. 1901 Census - 7 Westmoreland Villas, Lyncombe, Bath, Somerset. Children Ernest B aged 18 an Assistant Schoolmaster, born Kettering, Northamptonshire and John J aged 15 a Solicitors Clerk, born Kettering, Northamptonshire. The lodger was a Thomas E BIRTCHNELL, aged 48 an Assistant to Inspector of Weights and Measures and born in Apsley Guise, Bedfordshire. I would think a brother of his wife Mary Jane.
  16. 1901 Census - 3 Rutland Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire. Fanny was with her daughter Rachel and family. Son, Arthur Henry aged 2 born Kettering, Northamptonshire.
  17. IGI - they show a baptism of a George BELLAMY in Weldon as shown above, but it does not say if it is actual source or supplied by a member of the LDS. I would think this is the correct baptism, if it is the parents are down as John and Martha BELLAMY. I was hoping to find a William BELLAMY born around 1819 to prove that the person Louisa was staying with on BELLAMY Chart 0500 was the brother of George. This  William on the 1881 Census says he was 62, so that is why I believe he was born around 1819. In the same batch on the IGI there is a William BELLAMY baptised in Weldon, Northamptonshire but this is on 17th April 1814. There are also three other children who could be siblings of George, all showing parents as John and Martha and born between 1814 and 1824. As I am not certain this information is correct I will live as this note and not put a chart back for George until I can find out some more information.
  18. IGI Baptism. Ties up with Note 10, parents are as shown on 1851 Census. There are two other children's baptisms shown, for a Thomas DAWBORN, baptised 12th November 1826 and a William DAWBORN baptised 19th October 1828, both in Apsley Guise, Bedfordshire both with parents William and Mary.
  19. IGI Marriage for parents of Fanny. There is a marriage for a William DAWBORN and a Mary GILES on 21st October 1824 in Apsley Guise which I believe is the correct one for the parents of Fanny.
  20. 1881 Census - Lower Havelock Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
